why is strawberry switchblade regarded as goth?

i've listened to them for ages and i was told by a friend that they were a goth band. is there any other reason for this other than fashion, as it doesn't strike me as all to similar to other goth music i know, like gothic rock, dark wave etc. Asking this as a complete non goth, but you guys are amazing anyway i love the subculture

Bug related Band Names?

Hi!
For an upcoming cosplay of Animal Crossing’s Flick, I’d like to get pins, patches and/or t-shirts of bands with a name related to bugs! Sadly, the only two I can think of and listen to are The Beatles and Scorpions. But these are not goth or even fitting with the aesthetic of the punk looking chameleon character!

So I’d like some band recommendations based on this! Bugs! I’ll accept puns/play on words as well!
E.g. Beatles to Beetles. Joy Division to Meow Division. Bauhaus to Miauhaus. Sisters of Mercy to Kittens of Mercy. Etc but Bugs!

It’ll give me an opportunity to discover new bands while also wearing something that is closer to who I am and what I like for this cosplay.

I’ll also accept Punk, Metal and Industrial band suggestions in Private so the comments stay Goth related.

So thank you in advance! 🙂

Random Wholesome Encounter

So I had a random brief but wholesome encounter yesterday

I was in a supermarket and wearing a The Cure sweatshirt I have this one to be more precise and minding my own business with headphones on when I had a random person trying to get my attention and he asks me 'Oh do you like The Cure then?'

And I'm like 'Yeah?'

'Oh that was the first concert I ever worked!'

'Oh that's cool'

'Robert Smith is a great artist'

'Yeah he is'

Like it's nice one of the first/only times I've had someone comment on me wearing something band related it was a pleasant encounter.

PSA For Male Goth Singers..

Please don't decide to make ripping off Andrew Eldritch your entire singing style. If I had a quarter for every Eldritch wannabe I've heard during this past decade, I could afford to buy TWO new Whammy pedals.

Bands similar to Pretentious, Moi?

Hello r/goth! I discovered Pretentious, Moi? a day or two ago and immediately fell in love with their sound. Do y’all have any recommendations for bands with similar sounds/vibes? I already listen to Rosetta Stone who I know they’ve been compared to, but I was wondering what other bands are out there!
