Equivalent goth band to The Shaggs (not in sound, but in quality)?

So, as many of you may know… The Shaggs are one of the best (worst really), bands of all time. They basically were forced by their father to play music, having no real talent and desire to play and basically their music is horrible. I mean I personally love them and will defend them to the death as one of the best bands to have ever existed. But yeah, their musicianship is shit and to the average listener, they probably couldn't listen past the first 15th second of their record.

Having said that, my question to you is this. Are there any goth bands out there similar to this? Just a really, really bad goth band that is just some weird cult following, which was built/made out of some weird circumstance like The Shaggs, where for whatever reason, even though they aren't very good, had continued to play and gig and now are some weird novelty/cult following goth band that only the really cool goth kids know about?

Ok Thanks! 🙂

Looking for material from this band, Gethsemane (92-95?)

Gethsemane were formed by Katie Helsby and Ian Palmer. After some lineup changes vocalist Porl Morgan is recruited and the lineup is complete, they released only two eps (dark hour, watch and pray) and two singles (here and now, switch) between '92 and '95. I'm curious about this band since I heard they had a very similar sound to rosetta stone and they were called "rosetta clone" because of the similarity they had. There are only 3 songs uploaded and I tried to get the tapes but there is nothing avaible on discogs

Do you guys like the band “Witching hour” ?

I'm totally new to gothic music tho I think we all know the song "ligea" by them but they don't seems to be a well known band.

What was your gateway band?

I just thought this would be an interesting discussion! Mine was probably The Birthday Party! I dicovered them as a kid because a family member liked them. I was so obsessed with the songs "The Freind Catcher" and "Mr. Clarinet" specifically.

Whats the best goth band you’ve seen live?

For me personally, Sisters of Mercy, and She Wants Revenge were both fantastic live. Forever wishing I got the chance to see Bauhaus !!!!!

I’m seeing lebanon hanover later this month and am super stoked for it. Anyone seen them here and can confirm they’re brilliant ?!

How can identify when a post punk band is goth or not?

For example bands like joy division, mol chat doma or first the cure albums have similar vibes, but some are considered goth and others not?

Every band that has the word “The” in it is now gone. How many bands are left that you listen to?

This is a hypothetical situation. Like a "What if?" sorry I didn't make that clear enough

Throwback Thursday: Searching for 80s European FRENCH speaking Goth Band with baby dolls. The singer used a made up language like Cocteau Twins or Enya.

I completely forgot them. All I remember was an European show presenting them. The pretty girl show host talked with duck lips and she had awful posture. I even forgot the name of the show they were on. I know it's somewhere on youtube. Thanks,
