Dead Can Dance goes into detail as to why they can’t be arsed to work with photographers and artists for their cover art any more, chosing to use ai instead. -_-

Are there any more goth songs that sound like Riboflavin by 45 Grave?

Asides from recommendations, what (sub?)genre of goth music would this be assigned to ? 😖

I made some fanart of Virgin Prunes which are my favorite goth band! The photo I printed off the internet, I used markers to color Guggi and Gavin Friday’s physical features & write their names, and the letters I cut from junk mail. I’m trying to make more art with things I already have.

If anybody knows who the original photographer is please let me know!

Subgenres of alternative fashion feel more overlapped in today’s age then years ago

I'm just in my twenties but when I look at the history of goth, grunge, emo, cyberpunk etc. it used to be more distinctively differenciated.

For myself I can't really tell which subculture I belong to I love goth literature and art but I only sometimes like to listen to goth music. When I listen to music it is mostly rock and metal. Clothing wise it depends on the day sometimes just black, other days goth, some other day more metal, sometimes slightly emo and other days grunge.

I also feel that other alternative people just don't limit themself to one genre. From my understanding of the alternative history it felt more differentiated then nowadays.

What are your takes on that? Do you think it changed or was it always like that?

Was at all these and many many more

Wish I had all the posters from all the gigs but happy enough with memories!

Can’t believe Cramps was nearly 45 years ago and my first solo gig, was 14

New to the goth subculture, and I need more.

I started listening to goth music, and so far my favorite songs are "Starfall" and "Winterborn" by "The Cruxshadows" and "Monolith" by "Twin Tribes" & "Fronterawave"

I've loved Emo, Punk and Goth fashion for awhile now, and have listened to a decent amount of Emo and Punk, but I'm relatively new to Goth music.

I think that Monolith is what made me fall absolutely in love with the subculture though. I think this was my turning point haha.

anyway, I would love it

Bands that sound like the more melancholy side of Rozz-era Christian Death?

Especially The Drowning. Love the more punk side of them as well, but I've had better luck finding music in line with it. (I hope this is allowed since it's a recommendation request not a song post…)
