Culture clash and backlash on TikTok

I’m goth but have the most nordic looking, cozy home in the world and I am getting backlash for it for some reas reason?

Like to put it this way, I come from a very long line of religious alternative people, and while I do love the dark aesthetic of a very gothic, witchy home, I know that is not everyone’s cup of tea, so my house looks very much like IKEA’s wet dream, with subtle gothic decor. That way my MIL won’t get a heart attack when she comes visit.

But recently the alt community on TikTok is constantly barking at me for briefly doing a home tour, in which I showed my home, and for “ forcing tradwife values” ( I posted ONE video, in which I was baking chocolate brownies, also I am a neurosurgery resident, wtf??), and apparently that makes me less goth.

Anyways, what do y’all think about the tiktok alt community?
