Why did some bands not like and not want to be associated with Goth ?
My mistake it's *didn't
So my first guess was that they don't want to be under one definition that appeals to one audience, meaning they didn't want to be put in a box. That is understandable to me. On the other hand, most of these bands I would never have heard of if I wasn't interested in Gothic culture. So instead of trying to avoid the label "Goth" they should thanks it imo.
