Teen Gothic

So I was reading through the FAQ's for the sub for funsies and in the section about Gothic Metal there's a snippet talking about the lack of an established metal-goth rock fusion which got me thinking of Unto Others(formerly Idle Hands) who play essentially bass-driven Deathrock with a heavier guitar tone and touches of metal aggression at rare times(Think TSOM's Vision Thing meets Horror Vacui and The 69 Eyes), these guys are getting pretty popular, touring around the world and all and I'm wondering if it'll spawn more music along these lines, and if it does, how would it be recieved by the goth community? Would it be accepted? What would it mean for the evolution of the genre? It's such an interesting development to me considering there really aren't any bands with this sort of sound, at least none so established as this so it's difficult to say what the impact will be going foreward. My personal opinion is that the next wave of goth music will consist of 2 main sylistic routes, the first being similar to that of the latest Christian Death album which imho continued to push the limits of what goth music could be and secondly similar to Unto Others as I've detailed. I'd like to hear some thoughts on the matter!
