Teen Gothic

On Wednesday night my girlfriend Jill and I saw Missing and The Chameleons at the Oriental Theater in Denver. I had fun shooting photos, seeing friends, dancing, and enjoying the night with my favorite person. Towards the end of the show, Mark from The Chameleons jumped off the stage and climbed up onto the security railing right in front of us, which I shot two of my new favorite photos of (I'll post those eventually). After the final song, I heard the woman who was standing next to us asking someone on stage for the setlist. Our friends gathered around my camera to check out my photos – they were in a few so I wanted to share. When I eventually turned back around I saw Jill holding that setlist. For whatever reason, the woman who originally got it randomly gave it to her without either of us asking for it. The paper now lives on in my binder of similar items. Someday I'll scan and upload all the flyers, setlists, etc., from my personal collection of things from the many events I've gone to during my life. Huge thank you to that random woman who parted ways with this simple piece of music history – a simple gesture that we'll never forget.

Last night deathrock band WitchHands (from Colorado Springs) played an interesting and funny set in between two great horror punk bands at The Crypt here in Denver. They would like to introduce their new member: Dæmien Alexander – from Plague Garden, Ceremonial Leather, and formerly of Radio Scarlet. I captured this moment in time while aslo shooting photos at the show. WitchHands are good people. Please support them if they play a near you. I thought some of you might enjoy this cover so I filmed and edited it just for r/goth. They shared the stage with Redwing Blackbird and the amazing Urban Heat. A fantastic ages 16+ show here in Colorado. My friend called Urban Heat's frontman Goth Prince (like the Purple Rain musician).

So I just got a new job offer and they're asking me to move all the way to Aspen, Colorado.

Anybody here from Colorado? What's life like over there?

Clubs? Music Stores? Places where you can walk outside and feel comfortable as "yourself"?

Here is one of the many goth/darkwave record store sections in Denver. This one is at Wax Trax in their new vinyl and CD building. Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Birthday Party were in the regular rock sections and there's an industrial spot next to this one. I picked up two Birthday Party and one Lebanon Hanover records.
