Teen Gothic

I found this clip on my phone so I thought I'd edit it and share it with you fine goth people of Reddit.

Last night deathrock band WitchHands (from Colorado Springs) played an interesting and funny set in between two great horror punk bands at The Crypt here in Denver. They would like to introduce their new member: Dæmien Alexander – from Plague Garden, Ceremonial Leather, and formerly of Radio Scarlet. I captured this moment in time while aslo shooting photos at the show. WitchHands are good people. Please support them if they play a near you. If you're in Colorado Springs check out their gothic shop The Arbitratium. A few members of WitchHands also make good music under the band name Circumversor. I thought some of you might enjoy this cover so I filmed and edited it just for r/goth. They shared the stage with Redwing Blackbird and the amazing Urban Heat. A fantastic ages 16+ show here in Colorado. My friend called Urban Heat's frontman Goth Prince (like the Purple Rain musician).

So I just got a new job offer and they're asking me to move all the way to Aspen, Colorado.

Anybody here from Colorado? What's life like over there?

Clubs? Music Stores? Places where you can walk outside and feel comfortable as "yourself"?

Here is one of the many goth/darkwave record store sections in Denver. This one is at Wax Trax in their new vinyl and CD building. Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Birthday Party were in the regular rock sections and there's an industrial spot next to this one. I picked up two Birthday Party and one Lebanon Hanover records.

I hope this post is allowed (I read the rules/FAQ again to make sure). If not… Oops!

Finally, an ALL AGES goth rock event in Denver, CO! WitchHands (who have opened for bands like Nox Novacula and She Past Away) and Circumversor (members of WitchHands) will be filming for music videos at this show. Fun bands making great music. Roxy on Broadway, 9PM. $ 12.

There's also a really cool alternative market happening from 12-5pm that day just down Broadway at Grandma's House. They'll be selling goth magazines, jewelry, art, clothing, etc. It's called Gram Reaper and is hosted by Horrid Spirits (the flyer with more info is on their Instagram).

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to bring my good camera into this event as it was a Live Nation sponsored show, so I made do with what was allowed in and am pleased with the results. However, that camera thing looks like it might change for me at future goth rock shows thanks to friends who ran this one. I'll post a video montage of this show (and a bunch of past shows) eventually. The Sisters of Mercy played a bunch of unreleased songs which was amazing to hear. Who else saw them on tour?

I filmed this yesterday and really like how this single clip turned out, especially because it's one of their lesser known songs (and it's amazing), so I thought I'd share. I'll post photos and a full video edit of this show soon. Who else saw them on their tour and where?
