Teen Gothic

I'm 28 and recently started to listen to gothic music genres. I found that I enjoy Dark wave and Ethereal Wave a lot and love the vibes of the genres. I'm trying to learn about about history of gothic culture. I feel like I'm to old to join the community, as many seem to find the genre/community in teens.

If you haven't heard musician Neil Young has pulled his music off of Spotify because of them pushing the Joe Rogan show on the site which is spreading vaccine misinformation. Joni Mitchell, and some others are also joining in. With all of the talk about goth music being political I would think that at least some goth bands would participate in this. Have any done so? Personally I have never used Spotify because I think renting music is throwing your money away when instead you can actually buy the music, own it, and support the musicians. Thoughts?
