Happy goth. In a genre that people think is gloom and doom, what song makes you happy?
I'll start, the live version of joy division covering sister ray.

Is there a goth genre with classical and rock elements?
To distinguish from what may be "neoclassical darkwave", I'm thinking of a sound that's more like goth rock (with rock music elements) but with classical components (such as piano and strings), rather than being more ethereal/ambient and not much rock.
Are there any songs of this description/combination? Does this have a specific name as its own genre, or is it just a variation of "goth rock" (so it would still be primarily labelled as that)?

??? Goth is not a music genre?
Genuinely asking. I follow this page on instagram and I really like them because they share lots of new goth/post punk etc bands but this reply took me out. Last time I checked goth is considered as genre in it’s own.

Concept albums of the Goth rock genre
Hi everyone, hope your Sunday is well. Any goth bands that have any concept albums? ( an example of a concept album is The Wall by PF, basically when the album tells a story or has a very distinct theme) So my band (we play death rock) is currently writing a 15 song debut concept album and I wanted to know if the Goth genre has a plethora of concept albums or are there rather few ? Any direction would help, thanks 🙂

are there bands that lie outside the goth genre but have goth members?
I’m asking because I find it very interesting that we tend to see punks in metal bands and Vice versa, but I can’t think of many bands that are outside the genre with goth members. Is it uncommon or am I not digging deep enough?
(Also sorry if this doesn’t make a ton of sense I’m tired)

What songs under the the gothic genre do you consider perfect?
Ive been getting more into goth music for the past month or so and I wanted to see what other songs people considered perfect. And I know theres “no such thing as perfect” but I figured everyone has to at least have that one song they cant just get enough of.

Breaking into the genre
Hi yall, I know this post probably gets said a bunch so I'm sorry if this is just spam to a lot of the active people, but I'm trying to find some goth music to get me into the genre. I have a hard time assessing my music tastes at some times and I've listened to a few songs from artists I don't remember, but I definitely know I enjoy the genre. I really just want to find one if not a couple of artists to listen to their work (how I usually first listen music). If the metal and punk stuff I listen to helps, I like Rise Against, SOAD, A day to remember, amity affliction, killswitch engage, of mice and men, I prevail, and more that might just gum up this post. Sorry again if this is an every day post for yall regulars, I really appreciate the help
