Teen Gothic

Just back from seeing Rosegarden Funeral Party in Manchester, supported by the excellent Empty Page.

For the last song they brought on Rosie Garland, which was kind of epic.

If you get chance to see this band live, well please do, you won't be disappointed. Leah's voice is incredible.

Quick weird aside (that may not be quick at all)

I have a brain tumour that kind of fucks with my hearing. (think cursed childrens nursery rhyme music and you won't be far off) I still try to support and see live music whenever I can. Leah's voice somehow managed to pierce through all the distortion and weirdness i usually get. It was like some kind of fucking miracle. I've never heard anything so clear, it was like magic or something

After the gig I queued up because I wanted to share this with them, because it was kind of immense for me. Leah was so kind and emotional about it.

It's gonna take a while to come down from this high.

Is there any upcoming goth shows anywhere around Manchester? I’m struggling to find ones that aren’t only in London. Also preferably one that would let a 15 year old in.

Recently a group of us have started building a community/network for the gothic scene in Manchester. There is roughly 5/6 of us that meet on a regular basis to go on walks, go for drinks, have nights in etc.

We are always looking to expand our community and everyone is welcome regardless of gender, age and sexuality etc. We have a discord and an Instagram group dedicated to it. If anyone is interested in this please let me know!
