5 Days of Alien Sex Fiend, Day 3: “It” The Album (1986)

This album flows beautifully when played in its entirety, a rollercoaster ride of massive releases of tension and well needed reprieves. If you’re anything like me, you may find yourself feeling emotional, or like an itch is being scratched that you didn’t know was there.

Extras: Dust jacket with art by Nick Clark and Simon Cohen (cover art is by Nik Fiend)

My top tracks:

-Manic Depression

-April Showers & Wop Bop

-Do It Right

Honorable mention:

-Smells Like…

Cranky Goth Posers Episode 7 – Steve Spon (UK Decay) Interview

I have been looking forward to this one finally releasing. Steve was an absolute delight to interview and I am glad we have his stories preserved.

Plus Steve shows how goth has been both musical and political since the beginning from the words of someone who helped get goth started.

I also like how he covered his other projects. The man is an artist in so many genres and mediums.

I fear i’m growing out of goth music

I’m a baby bat (it’s been about 1.5 years since I started immersing myself in goth culture) and recently I’ve been just not really enjoying goth music like I used to. Instead, I’ve been listening to mainly 80s normie music while still partaking in all other aspects of being goth, such as DIY, aesthetics, activism, etc. So, this question goes out to any older goths, do you also experience this? If so, how long did it take you to be able to come back to goth music?
