They are perfect. Every single second of their music are astonishing, their albums are just unbelievable good, from starts to finish. Nothing on the scene of goth compares with them, and perhaps, they'll be the most relevant band during the future years.

Why is goth considered a strictly music based subculture? This is a genuine question I’ve been curious about. I don’t mean to offend or devalue the importance of goth music, but it seems like being goth was a thing before the music came into play but there just wasn’t a name for it. It says online that it started in the 80s (though the term gothic rock was coined in 1967), but what about gothic literature and architecture from the 19th century? Or some aspects of the victorian era? Another small example, a lot of people consider Elvira goth and she took inspiration from the Vampira show (1950s).

I really favor this subculture over all others, there’s so many aspects I love especially the fashion and architecture. I feel disappointed I can’t be apart of it if I don’t favor the music above the other things (I do like it, but I like many other genres better I don’t have much time to get into it. I also have a hard time finding songs with lyrics I like, I like heartfelt songs). Please inform me, I’d love to know more. Again I’m just genuinely asking because I love goth!

I've been into the science fiction theme a lot since childhood (especially robots) and I wonder if there is any goth songs that has science fiction theme. I know goth may be into fantasy or supernatural things. I like those too but I wonder if there are goth songs that are more sci fi. Could be some dystopian or utopian futures, robots, space, sci fi horror, or any sci fi theme.

I am more into Goth rock and death rock, but I am open to other goth genres like darkwave too.
So any sci fi goth songs you know of?

Hello, newbie here. I know this has probably been asked a million times on this sub, but I'd like some recommendations for Goth music and/or bands.

I myself have listened to very little Gothic music. The first one I heard, and probably alot of other people have too, was Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus. I was not a fan, it just seemed too slow paced and quiet to me.

So, if this genre has it, can anyone provide more "hard core" Goth styled music for me? I'd appreciate it.
