What goth stereotypes do you shamelessly dive right into?

Here are mine.

Most of my playlists are 80s post punk, metal, rock and basically any music that involves the guitar.

I love horror movies especially classic horror and the lost boys is my all time favorite movie.

I love coffin shaped things

I have tattoos and piercings

I read and write horror and love Anne rice novels

I love a good red wine

Peter Steele. Enough said.

I love unwanted animals like spiders, snakes and lizards

The list goes on and on

Goths are so different from the stereotypes.

Idk if this is the right place to point this out but I find it incredibly ironic that people have so many stereotypes about goths that are wrong. The subculture as a whole is just unbelievably misunderstood. As someone who is only very recently coming into this subculture, I've noticed this so much. And the overwhelming sense of community and openness is not something that is often portrayed about goths in pop culture, but it really seems like a defining feature. Everyone I have interacted with has been so kind and warm. <3

Does anyone else notice this or see how it impacts people around them's perceptions irl?
