What do rosaries mean in the goth subculture?
I hope this is the right place to ask. I'm just a curious metalhead who's not super familiar with goth culture (though I've always thought y'all are cool), so I apologize if this is a dumb question. But I have to know.
I see many goths wearing rosaries and I've always thought it's just because it looks good, but I came across someone saying that many goths wear it to express anti-conservatism or anti-christianity. I've never heard about that before and rosaries are a religious thing, so it feels counter intuitive. So I come to you to ask, is any of this true? Can someone explain the connection to anti-conservatism and anti-religiousness?

Late summer and early fall shows with NYC as an example (an embarrassment of riches)
There is an embarrassment of riches for goth, darkwave and post-punk fans of both established bands and new ones in the New York City area and all over the country late summer and early fall. Many of these bands are doing full tours and may be coming to a city near you too if you are in North America and elsewhere! This is an amazing season of shows. I'm sure I've missed some because there are so many to keep track of. Between now and the end of October, you can see:
- Peter Hook and the Light – Aug 27, Terminal 5, performing Joy Division albums (honorable mention to New Order who is also touring)
- The Damned – Aug 31, Sep 1, Chelsea Music Hall
- Black Rose Burning, The Long Losts, Hallowed Hearts, Twin Tribes, Ritual Howls, Then Comes Silence, Nuovo Testamento, Astari Nite – Sep 2 and 3, Murder of Crows Festival, Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom
- Bauhaus – Sep 8, 9, Kings Theatre
- Echo and the Bunnymen – Sep 14, Terminal 5
- Creux Lies – Oct 1, St Vitus Bar
- Pink Turns Blue – Oct 8, Market Hotel
- The Mission UK, The Chameleons, Theatre of Hate – Oct 13, Le Poisson Rouge
- Linea Aspera, Bootblacks – Oct 19, St. Vitus Bar
Show-wise this is a great time to be alive. Loving this. Anyone seeing any of these bands in NYC or elsewhere?

What’s a good gift idea for a band?
I might be going to a concert soon. It's not like a huge band so the members will probably hang out around the merch table like last time I saw them and I'd like to give them a little gift but I have no idea. Maybe some pins, patches? I will message the venue or the band before to make sure they can actually take gifts of course.
