Teen Gothic

Just wanted to start a conversation on Jim Gray and his band Darkroom! They’re kinda on the goth/new wave side of music. I haven’t found a lot of other people that know of or are into them and would love to talk with other about him and the band, especially if you have any fun facts or stories!

I found him through the 85 Der Kleine Vampir show and then got hooked from there with his song The Walls Too High 🙂

I’ve always been a big fan of CDs but they’re so hard to find. After looking at the thrift store I frequent for almost 2 years, I found a Rammstein cd today which isn’t goth but the closest I’ve ever found. Lots of bad country and weird gospel music is all I ever found and I think I’ve mostly given up lol. So where can I find goth CDs to buy online or elsewhere? I’m cool with used or new

Are you old enough to remember the new romantics? They were largely considered a subset of goth by the time I was coming up, but even the style seems to have disappeared. Now goth seems to be going through another revival and the younger generation has resurrected a lot of the old styles and given them new names, but not the foppish, poet shirt, David Bowie androgenous look that was uniquely new romantic.

Or am I just an elder goth out here yelling at clouds?

This can't possibly be normal, right? I'm in Miami visiting family and wanted to go to a goth event here before returning home, problem being, I'm 18 and male.

This feels like a questionable and creepy way to try set an age restriction and I'm hoping it's just a bad attempt at a joke. Thoughts?
