Teen Gothic

God, I just want DeWray to make more music like this. I'm not even a huge fan of most of Nosferatu's broader discog, but every single song on this album is a masterpiece. His voice just melts like honey. Wonderland, Silver, Bombers, and Monument are my favs for sure.

Personally, I love it, but I've seen a lot of hate at least on social media.

Some people say it isn't goth, but drag. Others say it is goth, but modern trad, and I agree, but I prefer to call it glam!

not intending to spread any hate or negativity! I was just wondering what are the opinions of the community about it 🙂

I've been trying to get into Urban Heat lately because everyone seems to be crazy about them and they tell me they're great live, but I just hear plain pop-punk/pop-rock. Some tracks remind me of 2010s Editors, but I still wouldn't call them goth. So where's the goth vibe that everyone seems to love about them? Any particular songs you'd recommend?

I think it’s good but overall one of their weaker albums. It has an amazing atmosphere though.

All you need to do is to know what being goth really means, and listen to gothic music, it's always posers that say you have to dress/act a certain way to be goth.

… but all of their three albums are great. Yes, the "Vision Thing" too. Maybe it's slightly worse than the first two albums, but it doesn't make it a bad album. Actually, my mom loved "Vision Thing" more than "Floodland", as well as one of my friends.

I get why goths dislike "Vision Thing". It's the least goth sounding album. That's 50/50 goth rock and hard rock. However, how many of you like the iconic "Love" by The Cult? It also has much hard rock sound in it. It's still Goth sound. The same with Vision Thing. It doesn't matter what does Eldritch say, their sound is goth. Moreover, it's just good music, whether it's goth or not.

On the other hand, the first album is still the best. And I love the second album as well. SoM is a great band, even though their leader has dic… difficult personality.
