Teen Gothic

hellooo, i am one of the bassist in an irish gothic rock/deathrock band based in the midlands (closer to offally) and we are currently looking for a new singer.

Were all 16-19 so in that range is preferable

were mostly influenced by chistian death of both eras but also by bands like siouxsie, 45 grave, molchat doma and TON

I used to have a demo cassette by a goth band from Scotland. Quite slow tunes, female singer. I would have purchased it 1984/6 possibly on a visit to Glasgow.

The cover had what I think was the virgin Mary, or Jesus crucified ( yes my memory is that bad) and one lyric was "what do you know of love not a lot I can see, virgin figurehead nailed to a tree.

It included a lyric sheet.

I look forward to any replies about this very vague memory!

I completely forgot them. All I remember was an European show presenting them. The pretty girl show host talked with duck lips and she had awful posture. I even forgot the name of the show they were on. I know it's somewhere on youtube. Thanks,

 So my hometown (Athens) is home to the lead singer of Vision video, aka Goth dad on TikTok, or just Dusty Gannon. Athens’ local newspaper is called Flagpole, and each year they do a thing called “Flagpole Favorites” where people vote for their favorite business via Flagpole (ex: best Italian restaurant of the year). If a business wins they get the title of Flagpole’s favorite restaurant/business of some sort. They also get a plaque to hang in said business. Last year, in 2022, Dusty Gannon was sorta the face of that years Flagpole Favorites. The photo i attached shows the ad for Flagpole Favorites from last year. My Parents own a business and they got a Flagpole Favorite Runner up. So in their window hangs a picture of Goth dad drinking Boba! 

Anyone else really love the album by Nosferatu called "The Prophecy"? The singer is so damn good on it. I always thought that guy was as close to Peter Murphy good as its gonna get but with a voice that still sounds like its his own. Has to be one of my favorite "goth" albums ever and only 2 people I know remember that album.

Wanted to try this genre recently and looking for some albums I could play next (preferably with female vocalists and released in the 90s/2000s or later). So far I've found:

• Cocteau Twins (never knew they were considered goth until now)
• Miranda Sex Garden
• Diva Destruction
• Switchblade Symphony
• Lebanon Hangover

Out of what I've tried so far, Passion's Price (Diva Destruction) and Fairytales of Slavery (Miranda Sex Garden) are my favorites so anything with a similar vibe to those would be great. Thanks in advance!
