In the "goth for beginners" spotify playlist advertised in the sidebar, there's a song "romeo's distress" by christian death that has a very….interesting lyrics. What's the story behind this song?

Sanguis et cinis: preferably like their album Wie der unberurte Traum Jungfrau even though I can’t really understand what they’re saying.

Elysium: not the metal band. look up Soledad by them and you’ll see what I’m talking about

Lycia: specifically their album Ionia. I like it because of how processed and dark it sounds and maybe I might find another band like this album.

Hi, (54f) I live in Birmingham, England. Anyhoo, I just went to the front door to pick up a Deliveroo shop, and a bunch (around six to eight of them, I think) of baby bats walked past. I said to the delivery guy, "Ooh, look, baby bats!" He kinda ducked and then looked thoroughly confused. I actually got a bit choked up. It was so lovely seeing our subculture thriving. Who've thought back in the early '80s we'd still be here, aye? Just wanted to share with folk who "get it".

So I myself am a huge metalhead but I have recently also been taking an interest in gothic music but I don’t really know what bands to listen to so I decided to come here for recommendations and I’m not one of the ones that thinks deftones is goth. I listen to the cure, joy division and the bauhaus I kinda wanna find some inspired by metal but either way goth music is goth music so give me your best bands

I’m still looking for names that will fit me the only names i can think of are, Gwen,iris,Lilith and jade I do like Lilith as the name but I’m still thinking about what name fits me so I thought i would ask the goth community

i usually listen to premade playlist when im doing my makeup and getting ready for the day. but during chores and more high energy tasks i usually listen to emo/scene music. sometimes i listen to it before bed and let my mind settle with the tunes

when do you guys listen to goth music? do you play it in the background during a task or just lay down and vibe?

I don't want to discourage them from coming, but I also want them to understand what the goth subculture is about. The community has substance and its own identity that has gotten very muddled. I just would like some advice for others who have started their own goth night in their area.
