Today is Atsushi Sakurai of Buck-Tick’s birthday
He would have been 60 years old. I've had Buck-Tick's 1990 album Aku no Hana as a part of my rotation this week, so I wanted to share some old school Buck-Tick with one my my favorite songs by them, "Sabbat." Happy birthday Acchan, I miss you!

Found this in the wild today.
Went a number of record stores looking for ASF specifically and couldn’t believe i was able to find this one. Was the only ASF record found out of 9 shops.

a friend of mine gave me this little CD today! they know i LOVE Virgin Prunes and they told me they don’t listen to this CD much anyways. this is my first Virgin Prunes CD
by the way, if anyone can tell me: how rare is this CD? i tried looking it up online, and found a few results, but not a lot and most were secondhand listings. this was pressed (and seemingly distributed) in France; i live in the United States.

Saw The Sisters Of Mercy live today..
So earlier today I was looking around online to see if the Atlanta Georgia show had been canceled for "The Sisters Of Mercy", since the one in Florida had been, and found a few threads of complaints about the band live. I dug a little deeper and it seems like they are notorious for being bad live! This was the first time I had heard this, granted I don't know too too much about the band but enjoy their music quite a lot, and from what everyone had said my expectations going into the concert were not the highest. But it was fine! I thought the show was great! Great crowd participation, great energy, both guitarist were clearly very passionate and at the end one even got down and shook lots of people's hands. I did notice the lead singers energy was a little lower, the guitarists definitely carried the bulk of the energy, and the instruments exceeded the vocals at a lot of points which could have covered some of the error but honestly..if it works it works. My boyfriend and I both agree that the show was great, so maybe they just had a crazy good night in Atlanta? Maybe my live performance judgment is off? I don't know, just wanted some outside opinions I guess

Goth is so watered down today
A previous post before me said something similar. People don't know that goth is a music genre.
All goth seems to be online now is "who looks the most goth" "who has the most goth stuff" "who dresses the most goth" "whos social media feed looks the most goth" and "who shops at the most goth stores"
Its all performative. More than half of all new goths are not true to the subculture. With the rise of aesthetics and how you are being perceived online, the goth message has been pushed out of the way for things like consumerism and capitalism off this popular "look".
And I use the phrase "goth movement/ message" lightly because it is apparently a polarizing topic, even though goth is a political subculture. Similar things have happened to the punk, grunge, and even scene/ emo subcultures who are based on antifascism or even positive mental health messages. Its been reduced down to a label with no one having any regard for the history of
Ever since goth became fetishized and a popular tag on OF, PH, etc. the message of the Goth Movement has completely been washed out, which is sad because goth's have never really been well known for anything other than their looks and "odd/ weird" personalities.
Please discuss any points I made in the comments and discuss with each other. I would love to know what other goths think of this!
