Are dark post-punk, darkwave, deathrock, and ethereal wave separate from goth music or do they all fall under the umbrella of goth music?
I’ve seen posts/comments that divide them for example, “goth and darkwave” “goth and deathrock”, I thought they were all together considered goth music?
It just gets frustrating when you’ve listened to a lot of the genres, find a song you think is goth and someone says “no that’s post punk” “no that’s darkwave” are those.. not all goth?

Nothing I said was a lie. It's freedom of speech. It's not defamation of character if you believe is what you are saying is the truth. I thought they were supposed to be "against canceling" looks to me like they love it

a friend of mine gave me this little CD today! they know i LOVE Virgin Prunes and they told me they don’t listen to this CD much anyways. this is my first Virgin Prunes CD
by the way, if anyone can tell me: how rare is this CD? i tried looking it up online, and found a few results, but not a lot and most were secondhand listings. this was pressed (and seemingly distributed) in France; i live in the United States.

Bands that claiming to be goth but they aren’t
I feel like these days there are plenty of new bands, especially in US that are classifing themselves as a goth bands but when you play their stuff they sound like blink182 or the offspring rip off just with a different lyrics. Can't recall such things happening in 90s.
