Sisters of Mercy @ Sick New World

I saw the flyer for Sick New World and instantly bought tickets after I saw London After Midnight, She Wants Revenge and most importantly Sisters of Mercy were playing there.

I'm a big fan of all their shit, but recently I watched one of their 2022 live performances for the first time and saw that they don't even have a drummer or a bassist anymore; but instead 2 young flashy guitarists and some guy on a laptop, all the songs sounded really disappointing. The band just doesn't work without bass/drums and it made me sad as balls hearing them play Lucretia my Reflection without the bassline

I thought I saw somewhere that the original band was getting back together for Sick New World, maybe in an Instagram comment, but I can't find anything online. Does anyone know if they're going to have drums and bass for this event? cause if not I don't know if I want to ruin the band for myself by seeing them live if they sound like what I heard

Does anyone else feel like a poser for not dressing “goth” most days?

I know goth is a music genre and the subculture is primarily based around the music. I love goth music- I got into it 4 years ago and get so exciting discovering new and old bands. I’ve been to a few events and concerts and have felt so happy and at home every time.

However, I don’t dress in what people would consider “goth” most days. I’m not very good at makeup and though I want to learn I haven’t had time to really lately. And I do have a lot of band tees and some nice black dresses or fishnets but I mostly end up wearing a lot of plaid shirts and blue or black jeans. I wish I could connect with other people who dress goth but I can’t afford to change my whole wardrobe and I do like some other styles. Does anyone else feel like this at all?

So why is everyone asking this same question over and over?

The “Am I Goth?” Or the “Is this Goth?” Question.
