Who are these weirdos? I was shocked to see them push the idea that commies are the same as nazis.

They're openly right-wing and won't let anyone who doesn't agree to those terms, like saying "commies are the same thing as nazis", comment on their page.

Anyone got some background info about this weird shit?

(It's a facebook group, by the way… I'm not proud of where I found them.)

any bands that hit the same as clan of xymox now that they’re dead to me?

clan of xymox was my top artist last year and i especially loved everything off of “spider on the wall” but they are unfortunately dead to me now. does anyone have recommendations for a similar vibe?

Sad to see Clan of Xymox posting ai slop. Not sure if I’ll be able to enjoy their music the same way anymore.

Im a little bit tired of hearing the same music played every time I go to my local goth club.

I’ll start out by saying I’m super grateful to even have a goth club in my area, but that being said, I feel like every time I go, they play the same handful of 80’s post punk songs over and over again. I love The Cure, I love Siouxsie, but for the love of god, there’s so much other good goth music out there! I’ve been really into exploring newer bands and I’m glad there are musicians out there trying to keep the scene alive. Why aren’t clubs supporting them more? Does everyone else in attendance also just want to hear the same thing every time? Am I the problem?

What has your experience been like if you’re a regular at any goth clubs?

I feel like 45 grave is such a specific flavor of death rock and I can’t find anything else that hits quite the same, can anyone recommend anything?

I like plenty of new school bands and old school deathrock but there's a kind of unique fun energy to 45 Grave that I can't really seem to find anywhere else, I think Super Heroines are maybe the closest thing I can think of. Can anyone recommend anything with similar vibes?

How did both British and American goth rise at the same time?

It seems to me that a lot of things were in the works even before the first albums were released – and even when albums were released how did news about the new underground culture travel since there was no internet and no tv coverage (or was there international TV coverage?)? Did record stores carry both British goth and American deathrock without time delay after release?

I honestly think that if there hadn't been any means to transfer news about goth it would have been born nonetheless both in the UK and the US (and other countries) since a counterpart to 80s mainstream excess euphoric culture was needed. Anybody agree?

Bauhaus have mentioned dub as an influence on their sound. Have any other early goth/postpunk bands said the same?

I remember a member of Bauhaus mentioning reggae as on influence on Bela, and I was curious if any other bands in the genre have made similar statements.

Is Goth today the same as goth 10 years ago?

Asking other goths. What do people think is goth nowadays? Do you think it's changed much in the last 10 years?

So why is everyone asking this same question over and over?

The “Am I Goth?” Or the “Is this Goth?” Question.
