Being goth in a small town is literal hell

I got to college in my small midwestern town and It literally sucks being goth here I swear. I put on the cure for someone who "listens to everything" and I get weird looks. I decide to actually get dressed up for a day and I get once again WEIRD LOOKS. I like love myself and everything about me and being goth but goddddd I got told going to college and no one will care what you do and how you look but I get here and It like. Anyone else in a small town know how to get over goth stage fright lmao????

Dress for black tie event

Hi, I got upcoming black tie event from work I have to attend and I was hoping if anyone would be happy to share their opinion on following two dresses from Disturbia or alternative? I don’t want to stand out, but also I don’t feel like spending money on vanilla dress I won’t care to wear again.

Best goth hangout spots for a weekend in Chicago?

Hi friends! Me, my partner, and two friends are planning to visit Chicago in April and I'd love for us to go clubbing one night of our trip!

We're planning to be there from Thursday night to Monday morning, so anything that's hosted on a Friday or a Saturday would be ideal.

My partner and I have been to two goth clubbing events in the past, so we have a tiny bit of experience in the scene. But the friends we're going with are virgins, albeit excited and open to anything!

So, what goth clubs still exist in Chicago? What would be your advice?

Does anyone else listen to the other Turkish goth bands?

So pretty much everyone in the scene has heard of She Past Away, they're rather popular and I do love them myself. However, they're not the only Turkish goth band. As I'm learning Turkish, over the last year or so I've discovered so many others that I love! I believe quite a few of them formed in the wake of She Past Away's success. I just wondered if anyone else is into any other bands from the Turkish scene?

Some of my favourite band discoveries are Altan, Kana Kana, Kargalar, Kumadam, Affet Robot and Merry's Funeral.

I made a playlist a while back of Turkish goth rock, darkwave and post-punk etc, my general criteria being the umbrella of music that fits into a goth setlist in a club. I've been adding to it as I make new discoveries.
