give me an album and i’ll listen!
i am not sure if this is allowed but i feel like i know much surrounding gothic subculture and history, but for some reason have just started listening to the music. i’ve wanted to for a long time, but diving into a new genre can be a bit overwhelming. i figured i’d try asking y’all for recs because who else better is there to ask? i won’t rate anything unless you want my personal opinion on the album, but i enjoy quite literally all music (except country lol). thank you!

Gothabet (Best/Your Favourite Goth Album from A-Z) Round 5: E
Current list:
A – Adrenaline by Rosetta Stone
B – Body and Soul by The Sisters of Mercy
C – Closer by Joy Division
D – Disintegration by The Cure
I basically walked right into that one, didn't I? But come on guys, show some love and appreciation to the other four albums. They're pretty solid as well.
Anyway, rules/explanations (will be writing this for every post in case somebody just stumbles upon it):
Must be goth. Read the sidebar/wiki/FAQ if you're unsure.
One band per letter. Any attempt to nominate a band already featured will be ignored.
Doesn't have to be strictly an album, can be an EP.
Please post only one album per comment so I know what exactly you're nominating. (Plus it's easier to keep track of.) You can comment multiple times though.
Each round ends after 24 hours. (Inconsistent post schedule, will post whenever I feel like it.)
Articles could count or be ignored for the next word in the title.
Best/favourite album that starts with E?

Gothabet (Best/Your Favourite Goth Album from A-Z), Round 3: C
You guys absolutely sure you want The Sisters of Mercy to win B? Ok then. Don't be mad at me when I ignore them for F.
Current list:
A – Adrenaline by Rosetta Stone
B – Body and Soul by The Sisters of Mercy
Rules/Explanations:
Must be goth. Read the sidebar/rules/wiki/FAQ.
One band per letter.
Doesn't have to be an album, could be an EP.
Please post only one album per comment.
Each round ends after 24 hours. (I have a very inconsistent posting schedule. I post whenever I feel like it.)
Articles could count or be ignored for the next word in the album title.
Example: An Eye for the Main Chance by Rosetta Stone could be either A or E.
So, favourite/best favourite album that starts with C?

But seeing frontside. There was no cape too. The band had disbanded few years ago. The music was soooo good, but I can remember the name

Anyone know about the symbol in the center of this album?
First and Last and Always has to be one of my favorite albums out there, but I always wondered about the symbol in the middle. Does it have a meaning or origin, or does it just exist for the sake of filling in space?
(Sorry if the flair is incorrect)

What’s the first piece of goth media (whether it’s a song, artist, album, etc) that you remember falling in love with?
For me, Siouxsie's "She's a Carnival" hooked me immediately and is what really began my journey into goth music.
Although, I also deeply loved "Lovesong" growing up (and still do), but that feels like WAY too easy of an answer.
