I'm extremely excited to get to the 2010s!!! i'll finally get to Christ vs. Warhol and other classics babyy

I’ll start out by saying I’m super grateful to even have a goth club in my area, but that being said, I feel like every time I go, they play the same handful of 80’s post punk songs over and over again. I love The Cure, I love Siouxsie, but for the love of god, there’s so much other good goth music out there! I’ve been really into exploring newer bands and I’m glad there are musicians out there trying to keep the scene alive. Why aren’t clubs supporting them more? Does everyone else in attendance also just want to hear the same thing every time? Am I the problem?

What has your experience been like if you’re a regular at any goth clubs?

A LOT of them just make posts to feed the delusions and fetishes of men.

Others just dance over goth music. I have no problems with dancing but too much is too much. I want to see other type of videos too.

I can tell when someone makes videos related to goth just for views and likes and others that really care.

For example I love diy videos

Some of these videos are so cringe that I want to stab my eyes.

I do not want to be misunderstood I love goth music and style is just that social media makes goth look more like something trendy. Like teenagers saying they are goth just to be cooland then do not even like the music.

I have this problem with instagram where it is full of influemcers dressing "goth". Just type goth in the search bar and see how many true goth outfits and how many sexualized outfits are there.

I want to see quality content, not the same dancing video with the same music in the background made by different influencers….

I've been more entertained by this sub and the other two goth style outfits subs than instagram

i recognize some of these albums (cure,smiths,siouxsie) but i have no idea about most of them

I'm new to the gothic subculture and have been seeing several things similar to the title like goths wanting to go watch the Barbie movie, so I wanted ask what does that mean? Is it like some way for goths to express that they have a soft side without showing it?
