FIRST BATTLE JACKET/BACK PINNED AND READY TO SEW

I'm going to use white thread. I've found that my regular sewing needles work better than my cheap leather needles, but we'll see how they hold up. Still 20 bands to add to the front and sleeves.

My first battle(?) jacket and unsure if its any good.

hey all! so this is my first battle jacket, idk if it countd as a battle or punk jacket but Idk if its good or not, I made some myself and I wanna get more but I am trying to do one side as goth and such and the other as metal or heavier bands I like, is it any good?

imma add more spikes and thinking of sewing webs on but unsure. I dont remember where I got the jacket but the wear and tesr on it was already there, I was thinking of moving thr paw patch to the centre back and adding a anti nazi patch I made and an anarchy one but I've seen a lot of baddle jacket stuff so I'm overthinking my jacket a bit.

Waited for Soothing Sunday to post but really happy about this. I’m making a battle jacket and painted one of the pockets Virgin Prunes-themed; I posted it on Instagram few days ago. None other than *THE* GAVIN FRIDAY (my favorite Virgin Prunes member) liked the post and put it on his story!

I'm really happy that this happened to me and I never thought I'd ever be noticed by a favorite member of one of my favorite goth groups ever so this is just so exciting to me and I really wanted to share 😀

Picked up my battle jacket after a year… finally painted Rozz on my backpatch

Just need to clean a few edges and add varnish. I freehanded it so I’m super proud

DIY BATTLE VEST

This is my latesy DIY project that had its fair share of problems while making it. I didn't want to sew the patches on this one because I wanted it to be with "interchangeable pieces". Maybe I'll add more pins and studs in the future, but for now I'll leave it as it is. Hope you'll like it!

My First Battle Jacket

This is my first post as a babybat, hi! About two weeks ago my mom got this jacket for a dollar and it occurred to me to make my first battle jacket, all the patches were made and sewn by hand (sorry for the bad english, it's not my native language)

Battle trench coat (a work in progress…)

I painted more patches than this, but i wanted to show what I've done so far on my little project here. All of the pins except the Siouxie one were made using my friend's badgemaker. All the patches were pretty much freehanded with some fabric paint and thin brushes.

My ability to center things properly while handsewing isn't amazing so some things are a little uneven, but I think that adds a certain charm 😉

My battle jacket (and the inspiration)

8 yearsish of daily wear, but the jacket was from a charity shop, so the material itself is probably older.

I wanted it to look sort of whimsigoth, like something you'd pull out of a wizard tower, or the back of an old occult shop.

I used leather paint, acrylics and poundshop nail polish. The badges are from gigs, online, charity shops and vendors elsewhere, I don't really remember now tbh. Same thing with the metalware, from all sorts of places.

The lining is also added by me, the original was disintegrating, so I sewn in this red-black silk on top by hand. It surprisingly wasn't too hard.

On the back is Siouxie, the sleeves are Virgin Prunes, Faith and the Muse and the Cure. The logos on the front are Corpus Delicti and Einstürzende Neubauten. It been also heavily inspired by Gustav Klimt and Dave McKean's paintings, especially Klimt's tree of life on the sleeve.

Don't ask me how long it took, this was done bit by bit over the course of years. Now I'm at a point where I'm happy with everything, don't plan to add new stuff, just keep touching up or mending as needed.
