dealing with harassment
so im in a small town from an eastern european country and i get a lot of harassment, espacially at school. i usually dont dress like hardcore goth or smth, i never did trad goth make up, i do not wear revealing stuff or things associated with kinks, most of the time im just casual goth/alt. there is a group of guys that wont stop yelling at me and harrasing me, both in school and outside (they re from my highschool) and they re planning to spit on me or smth (someone told me they heard them talking) and im really afraid of getting jumped or beaten.
do you have any advice? im not planning on changing my style bc that would mean new clothes and i dont have the money first of all, and also its not really sustainable since i would not use them after graduating. i also like dressing how i want and i dont want to change since i really worked for the clothes i have now and i always wanted to dress how i dress now. i was thinking of telling the principal or a teacher but im afraid they would tell me that im asking for it and i should dress more "normal" + these people dont really care for this stuff so im risking to just make myself embarassed

Harassment getting worse?
Hey, this might just be me and I’m not sure this is the right place to talk about this but lately I feel the harassment against emo/goth/alternative people has gotten a lot worse. Maybe because the influence of TikTok? People filming everyone randomly just because they look “different?” I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this, or if it’s just the place I live/my environment

Considering switching schools because of harassment
I am in 11th grade and I constantly get screamed at, barked at, recorded, etc while I’m trying to walk from class to class. I don’t have any friends, and people get bullied just for being seen in public with me. I live in California if that matters. I’m thinking about doing dual enrollment where I do some of my high school classes online and some at community college. In your experience, do people still get harassed in college?

Does Anyone Else Experience Harassment?
Throwaway account. I'm fucking tired of how cruel and unhinged people can be. I hate the fact that people feel as though they can take advantage of me. Even strangers. One guy yelled at me and harassed me today for not giving him money. He proceeded to follow me out of the store and insult me. He called me a dumbass, (ironically) broke, insulted my hair, told me to stop wearing black, and a bunch of other bullshit. Just kept attacking me. The verbal abuse kept going as I left the store. He followed me out of the store I was at, and insulted the race of the cop I was talking to following this incident. Called someone else the f-slur. I felt unsafe. 3 days into the new year and this happens.
Another guy looked me up and down, and I can't forget the look on his face. I can deal with staring, but he had this look of disgust on his face.
I just feel like I can't catch a fucking break. People are fucking awful.
Edit: Yes, I was dressed in my gothic attire. In both instances when this happened, it is why I mentioned it. I believe that my appearance makes me a target for that bullshit. I guess I should expect it looking "different". But it's still such an awful feeling. I wanted to know if anyone else experienced that. And how you deal with it.
Second edit: Just wanted to say, thank you everyone for taking time out of your day to comment. It's been rough so thank you for showing me kindness and empathy. It means a lot.

How do you guys deal harassment?
So I (20f) live in one of the biggest cities in Iowa (which isn't even that big becauseits Iowa). I have a few "alt" friends and I take with me most of the time when I go out because theres power in numbers. (Any "alt" person in iowa plz hmu let's be friends) I went to see Sonic 2 just recently and I brought one "basic" looking friend with me because I really hate going anywhere looking interesting in Iowa. Anyway just going into the theater some guy approached me and told me I'm so hot and my fishnets makes him want to pass me around and f*ck me. I felt so uncomfortable I literally went and hid in the bathroom because I was worried he would follow me into the theater or wait for me if he knew which auditorium I was in. Thankfully nothing happened.
After the movie I went to Perkins and a group of like 15 teenage boys came in and sat near my table. I over heard a lot of what they were saying and it was very mean/suggestive. They kept moving so they could take pictures of me and saying they had to go to the bathroom so they could walk by me and "get a better view." Yelled nasty things to me on my way out.
I've looked like this forever so I'm pretty used to being stared at, called funny things, parents hiding their kids, etc. I almost never left the house for anything but work for like 2 years for quarantine. I'm going out a little bit more lately and it feels like the way people react has gotten worse since returning and I dont even know what to do at this point because this is a regular occurrence now and its affecting me.
