My stereotypical 20 something goth/goth adjacent record collection.
Been lurking here for a bit but I’ve been wanting to post for a bit. I’m 24 and became a goth when I was 19. I’m a music lover and love most types of music but this genre feels like home to me. I’m also a musician and have a darkwave project with an album in the works but this post isn’t about that lol
Can’t pick one favorite out of these but if I had to choose some I’d go with Borderline, Pornography, and Script of the Bridge

RIP Founder of Metropolis Records, Dave Heckman
Post about his passing.
Metropolis was one of the first US labels to carry Goth and Industrial music, and they still distribute bands like Then Comes Silence, Kill Shelter, Clan of Xymox, Faith & the Muse etc.

Early Non-UK Goth Rock/Post-Punk Goth Bands?
Were there any early (70s/80s) Non-UK Goth Rock/Post-Punk Goth Bands? Bands similar to Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, etc.. But not in the UK?
To be clear, any goth bands outside of deathrock, cold wave, gray rock, after punk, darkwave, ethereal wave?

First time in a goth club, I am not goth and I am super shy
Hello! So, I moved to California a while ago, and a friend of mine went to a goth club, he liked it and I got interested in going there.
The problem is that I am not goth at all (I did buy black clothes though). But, I am interested in the ambience, the music and just having a good time/experiencing something different.
How should I approach this? I am going on my own (my friend can't make it) and I am terrified of people singling me out or whatever.
I do love to dance though. Any tips is welcome!

Totenwalds Part Time Punks session
Totenwald released a great part time punks session recently that, at least for me, feels like its their moving closer to their darker deathrock influences: https://thisistotenwald.bandcamp.com/album/part-time-punks-session
Totenwalds a great band that i feel deserves greater publicity.
