Teen Gothic

Im going to a club tonight, but my frend can't go. Is it wierd to go alone. Im bad a socialising, like i can talk if somone start first but I dont know how to start conversation. Shoud I go ?

Me and my husband have been working out this plan for a couple of years now. Its going to be a visually gothic vampire themed establishment with a huge focus on goth music/sub culture. We live a bit further out from a more well known scene…Its bigger and has at least a few other alternative establishments. Area we currently are in has a more fledgling scene and only a couple of small businesses that are alternative. I am trying to figure out what would be the best course of action. I'd love to help build the local scene where we are. The problem is it's more expensive here for rent, but packing up our lives and changing day jobs would be probably just as expensive. The other area is also pretty established and I am worried we would be taking up space from another venue as there are several that already have goth nights Wherever our bat wings land us we want to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone. I would love some perspectives on if we should stay and try to maybe get some help with funding or make a big move and possibly take out a larger loan. One of my more local venues is having a friday the 13th event and Im itching to go!!! I would be going alone and want to start going to make friends! I don't really have any right now so feeling very lonely at the moment lol. My main issue is that I've never been to any sort of club before and don't drink! Any advice or tips, Im very shy! 23f if that helps?

I'm a 25-year-old black woman who recently gave up all her social media. ( ive been fully presenting as goth for about 5 years now in my attire and the fashion has really helped me gain some confidence. I used to just listen to the mucis but had no taste for fashion, now ive gotten a bit better at looking the way I want. )

I'm attending a goth dance event for the first time on Friday by myself and I suffer from being a bit awkward and super shy. Are there tips on how I can navigate the bar/dance scene and make friends?

I really want to put myself out there and gain a bit more confidence. Is there advice for anyone who has gone to events alone?

We went to listen to some local goth bands and it was a great show! We were invited by the lead singer of Strzyga, he also runs a cool spooky coffee shop/bar in PDX; he recognized us and invited us to come to the show.

Bands there were Nightsister, Doomed Romantics, and Strzyga. I highly recommend checking them all out on whatever music streaming platform you use.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I used to go to a goth club in NYC back in the day and I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. It was in Alphabet City. Had a main room and a small back room. Used to go there a lot and I can’t remember what it was called. Ugh. Was talking ti a friend who would go with me and he can’t remember either. I’m sure it’s not there anymore. Any ideas?

I live in Tampa and used to frequent The Castle when I was younger, but I honestly haven’t been since 2019. It’s a huge club with two dance floors, an outside area, and another room that’s closed off and only open for special events.

Coffin Club was much smaller, but had the same vibe. I danced for a while, had a few drinks, and then (respectfully) watched other people dance and have a good time.

10/10 I want to go back!
