Teen Gothic

I want to know what you all think. For me its definitely the Passion of Lovers by bauhaus, its just so catchy and overall i feel like it embodies goth as a whole.

So, I saw someone talking on here about "The Merry Thoughts" being a Sisters fan band… not gonna lie, it's literally like hearing unreleased Sisters of Mercy tracks.

Which got me thinking – are there similar … "inspired by" bands for the Fields of the Nephilim, The Mission, Rosetta Stone?

I really loved Merry Thoughts, but searching "sisters of mercy rip off" isn't likely to get me far.

I'm looking for something that truly has a goth atmosphere, but with mosh riffs.

Right now the only things I can think of are Eyes of Fear and Portrayal of Guilt.

I've also heard a bit of deathrock/chain punk/black metal crossover, but honestly that sort of thing isn't my thing. I'm looking for cold post punk influenced atmospheric melancholy, combined with heavy mosh riffs.

I'm looking for the saddest, most gut wrenching, melancholic, painful goth songs that just make you want to die. Please give me some suggestions!

To be fair these are the only goth bands that I’ve listened to extensively, I’m sure if I knew of all that was out there my list would likely look very different.

Just bought this apparently super rare voodoo church vinyl (1982) because I love the album, but was wondering how rare actually is this vinyl or how much it’s worth? There’s limited information about all this but any information would be helpful thanks!
