Just looking to meet and socialize

i really want to meet goth people who live near me but it seems like the main way to do so is at clubs but I'm too young to go to one. what are some alternative places I can meet fellow goths in real life?

I started going to dark dance nights in my city few months ago. Whenever people of all genders come up to me or I go up to someone to say hi, they typically want to shake my hand or hug. A couple people have gently held onto my hand after shaking it, and it seems normal for people to hold hands or hold onto each other’s shoulders or waists while talking. I’ve even received kisses on the cheek and seen others do it to each other, and it just seems totally normal here. People are very free with complimenting each other on makeup, outfits, etc, and I’ve never received so many compliments in my life.

Some people ask permission before doing any of this, some don’t, but it doesn’t seem to be done with ill intent either way. Outside these club settings, I wouldn’t let anyone get so friendly, but everyone here just seems so chill and happy, I don’t mind it and know I can speak up if I do.

I’m just wondering if this is normal everywhere? I remember someone a long time ago who claimed to be a regular at these things talking about how people at goth clubs weren’t friendly and to just keep to myself lest I give the impression I’m looking to hook up, but I’ve had the opposite experience so far. People even share difficult things they’re going through to strangers, and we all hug and try to reassure each other that things will be okay. There’s also a wonderful overlap between the goths and board gamers in my area, but the goths are more likely to exchange contact info and show up to hangouts than other people I’ve met at game events.

I’ve never been clubbing before, or even been to a party, but with spring break coming up, I wanna try something new. Even if it’s not a goth club, just as long as it’s filled with alt people in general I’d feel a lot more comfortable. I live in western North Carolina if that helps. Thank you!

Hey everyone! I'm really new to goth music, but from what I've heard so far I really like it. I've learned that a big part of being goth is actually supporting bands, not just liking the music.

My problem is that I suffer from severe anxiety that makes getting out of the house pretty rough sometimes, and the nearest nightclub to me is like a minimum of 45 minutes away. Are there other ways I can support bands, and am I allowed to call myself goth if I'm not active in clubs?

I’m still very new to the very idea of Goth but I’ve loved the music for a long time. How can I find hang out spots nearby? I look up goth clubs but they’re always on the other side of the state or country I’m in (I travel a lot for my career path – live in Boston currently in Naples, Italy). Any tips?

Hello my fellow bats!!

I’m heading down to LA 26-28 this week for universals Halloween horror nights!! (I’m so thrilled I can’t contain my excitement) haha, for one night out of those two nights. Anyways I’ll have one free night. I’m not from California and I’ve heard the goth scene is really big out there! I’ve seen so much about goth clubs but there’s a problem! I’m not 21. In fact I’m 20… it’s a bummer that I’m so close to being 21 (4 more months!!) anyways.. since I’m still technically ‘underage’ is there any 18+ or 20+ friendly goth clubs I should know about? I want to meet as many bats that I could those days!!

sorry for the weird question, but I have been thinking about going to a club like this for a while now. There are some really nice music that I'd like to enjoy at a venue like this and dance to it.

Living in germany, never really went to a club here at least not goth/techno styled one and was wondering if I would be welcome? Out of curiosity I looked at pictures of clubs and didnt see anyone looking turkish or of eastern origin

So when I move out and live on my own, I'm gonna get into the goth scene. What could I expect going in to goth clubs?
