Which gothic bands would you recommend to a newer goth? (I primarily listen to visual kei)
I am curious as I know a few gothic bands yet suggested to me by my friend. I wanna discover more.

How would we feel about a goth cafe? One that would also host goth club nights?
Me and my husband have been working out this plan for a couple of years now. Its going to be a visually gothic vampire themed establishment with a huge focus on goth music/sub culture. We live a bit further out from a more well known scene…Its bigger and has at least a few other alternative establishments. Area we currently are in has a more fledgling scene and only a couple of small businesses that are alternative. I am trying to figure out what would be the best course of action. I'd love to help build the local scene where we are. The problem is it's more expensive here for rent, but packing up our lives and changing day jobs would be probably just as expensive. The other area is also pretty established and I am worried we would be taking up space from another venue as there are several that already have goth nights Wherever our bat wings land us we want to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone. I would love some perspectives on if we should stay and try to maybe get some help with funding or make a big move and possibly take out a larger loan. Anyway if this kind of post is not allowed or if I maybe used the wrong flaire please let me know. Thank you🦇

What none goth songs would you love for a goth band to cover and why?
Hi, Firstly let me start of by saying I hope I'm not violating rule #1 on this subreddit as I hope this post is relevant enough to the subcalture and Idk where else I could post this discussion. But if it does violate community guidelines in some way, mods please let me know where a more appropriate place to post this discussion would be. Now on to my main point. What initially got me thinking about this topic was when I first heard the cover of "Jolene" by Tears for the Dying. I love that cover and strongly urge anyone to give it a listen for themselves if they haven't already. Other covers I really like are "The mercy seat" by nick cave and the Bad seeds, "Dear Prudence" by Souxie and the Banshees, and "The Witch" by Rosetta Stone. There are lots of older dark country and folk songs that I'd love to see covered by a goth bands such as the song "Long Black Vail" it's such as dark atmospheric country song and I think what could only make it better is if it was covered by a post-punk, dark wave, or gothic rock band

If you talk with someone that wants to be introduce in the goth sub culture what would you advice them?
I want to introduce myself into this subculture but I would like to know what is more important, like what you think, what you look, what you read, things that I can know so I can be part of it. If you have any advice of how you started to be goth it would be amazing

What goth songs would you want to hear on the radio?
So, I recently was accepted as a DJ at my colleges radio station and want to play a lot of goth and goth-adjacent (bands loved by many goths but not actually goth) music during my hour on air. I already have some artists I enjoy and plan on playing like bauhaus, christian death, siouxsie and the banshees, scary bitches, etc, but I'd really appreciate some more goth and goth-adjacent music recommendations.
I'd also appreciate "clean" (no curse words or in a non-english language) song recs if I get stuck with a slot during the day time.

What do we think would be their top 5 bands?
The goths are my favorite team on Ridonculous race, and I love goth music which got me thinking "I wonder what bands these two would have as their top 5?"

Worried about this guy who is always at my club nights – what would you do?
So I'm newish to my local goth scene, and it's been an incredibly welcoming experience. Everyone that I've met has, for the most part, been very nice. But there has been one guy I've noticed that just…makes me extremely uncomfortable. He only talks to girls (that are very obviously annoyed by him) and interrupts people talking to girls to add them on Instagram and tells them he's "controversial". At first I thought maybe he was autistic, so I really did not want to judge right away. There was one night that he tried to follow me around after speaking a few words to me but I made it clear I wasn't interested.
I eventually found his Instagram from a comment he left on the DJ's page. He had his YouTube linked and oh my god, I almost wish I never clicked it out of curiosity. He is the definition of an incel. Posts saying "I am going to get my dark queen one way or another, she will be MINE". Literally screaming in one video that it's "eating him alive" that he hasn't gotten what he wants yet. He also follows ultra conservative pages, and one called "Black Guns Matter". That alone is concerning enough.
I worry that he is getting more and more desperate, and it just gives me that paranoid thought in my head every time I see him at the club – like does he have a gun on him? The bouncers at my clubs don't search anyone.
I've thought about reaching out to the DJ and informing them of the things I discovered and leaving it at that. I don't know what it takes to get someone banned from a club. But maybe someone else has had bad experiences with him, and the more people that say something about it, maybe he will get banned?
What would you do in this case? Am I overreacting? All thoughts are welcome.
