We just released our debut album and would love to hear from you!

Hi everyone! Our cold-wave/post-punk duo Ostatnia Klatka have just released a debut album and started touring in Poland.

Freezing cold guitars, gloomy vocals, bass that could rearrange your room, synths straight from the 80s. We sing about living in Eastern European city, about our fears, about our lives.

That's what we wanted to say about ourselves, but tbh we would love to hear what YOU think about our first album. Your feedback would be much appreciated!

Here we picked some songs that are a good overview of our music, but we really encourage you to check the whole thing as it's quite diverse – and say a word or two what you think abuut it :).

Urobor – our goth side

Have you seen any of the bands from this year’s WGT live? Which ones would you recommend?

I'm trying to plan my schedule and avoid leaving a venue after a few minutes and being late for something that’s actually good lol. So far I'm most looking forward to seeing Topographies, Sextile and Dancing Plague, I think they've never been to Europe before.

What misconceptions about the goth community would you like to see discussed more often?

Hello. I'm doing an assignment for school about misconceptions or stereotypes about the goth community and how they affect us as a community. I would like to see what misconceptions you would all like to see be discussed more often or are harmful, but others may not see it as such. Also, I might use your responses in my essay and I'm happy to post it here after I've completed it. 🙂 Obvi I will credit and mention those who's points I may use in the essay. 🙂

Edit: Also how do you all think these misconceptions impact us as a community? Thank you to everyone who responded to my post! I will be asking those who made a particularly detailed point to use their comments in my essay. Thank you!

Which short-lived bands would you have liked to see release an LP?

In the second wave there were a lot of bands that didn't last more than 3 years but released some demo tapes that are heavy underrated gems with a lot of potential. Bands like Redemption, Restoration, Seraphin twin deserved a lot more than a few demo tapes in my opinion. Which short-lived band would you have liked to have released an LP?

Bauhaus – How would you rank their albums?

Trying to branch out from the 4-5 studio/live albums I generally head right for, wondering if I'm missing any must hear/harder to find albums.
I've been reading through similar posts for bands like SatB here lately, and noticed there wasn't one for Bauhaus, which has me curious.
In the Flat Field will always be my #1, it's one of my favorite goth albums period, and is the album that really sold me on the band, and to some extend, the genre.

Anyway…
My ranking for albums I'm relatively familiar with would be

  1. Flat Field
  2. Press Eject
  3. The Bela Session
  4. Mask
  5. The Skys Gone Out

Would you consider someone who listens to goth music, but doesn’t dress the part, goth?

I've been thinking about this for a while, as "listening to the music" always seems to be the criteria when people ask if someone is goth. A lot of people who dress quite goth get called posers or something like it because they don't listen to any goth bands, but don't the clothes have at least some say in the matter?

How would you define “Closet Goth?”

I'm just wondering because I'm constantly told that I'm a closet goth, but I don't see it. Did I geek out on seeing Vandal Moon and Twin Tribes live? Yeah, but that doesn't make me goth. Right?

Who would be your “must sees” at this festival?

I’m sure there will be set conflicts. Mostly between the bottom bands if they are playing at the same time. I love Rozz’s Christian Death stuff but I haven’t listened to the rest of their catalog. I’m leaning towards them over 45 Grave or Skeletal Family though. I’m most excited about: Cold Cave, Clan of Xymox, Drab Majesty, Christian Death, Depresión Sonora, London After Midnight, Death in Vegas, Kavinsky, Molchat Doma, and all of the top bands really.
