The Birthday Party, Southern Gothic.
(The band's legacy on culture will not be touched upon as its importance is obvious)
I was listening to The Birthday Party and I realized something that is not particularly important and that is that I don't really get the "gothic" sound within their music as it is sometimes presented. It is definitely dark, scary and romantic but I don't think it reaches the level of being considered "Gothic Rock" as it is closer to Noise Rock, No Wave and Punk Blues. Maybe instead of "Gothic Rock" I think it is more appropriate to see it as a Deathrock album due to the punk still being present in most of the songs and its almost non-existent ethereal atmosphere. This is my personal opinion but I would like to know what you think about it and how you would present it.

Do you guys know the band “Asylum Party” ?
I tried to find them on YouTube or Spotify but for some reason they don't have an account/channel so I was wondering how well known/unknown they are in the community.

On this day around 44 years ago Bauhaus and The Birthday Party performed live together!
Two of the most energetic bands ever, imagine both on the same night? Awesome!!

Favorite Birthday Party song?
I’ve recently been going through the birthday party’s catalog again after a long time of just playing some of my favorite songs instead of whole albums. I’ve always loved them but I’m finding my appreciation shifting to different songs. Like Mr.Clarinet might be my favorite now. More release the bats? How did that happen?
Anyway! What’s your favorite birthday party song?

I recently moved to the American south, and I’m surprised to see the number of people who are visibly goth or punk sporting confederate flags and/or Republican party merch. How did this happen? What do you think about this intersection of culture/beliefs?
This is wildly different than my experience in New England and I was shocked to see it tbh.

New Rosegarden Funeral Party album!!
I was scrolling through the web as always, and just discovered that Rosegarden Funeral Party's new album "From the Ashes" will be released next Friday, March 22nd. I'm super excited for this release as Rosegarden have been one of my favorite bands of the past 3-4 years. Anybody else stoked for this album?!
