My first goth concert

Hey so i made a post a while back about my going to my first concert specifically goth concert alone so i’d thought it be nice to update after the experience

Firstly i’d like to thank everyone who commented and gave me advice though i didn’t reply to all comments i did read them and i appreciate everyone’s feedback

So I went to see the sisters of mercy and… they sucked just like everyone said they would lol they had mic problems the whole night i don’t really mind though because i didn’t really have high expectations for them

However the coward there was awesome and made up for the lack luster show it was nice to see other goths there was this one elder goth who was telling stories about all these different shows he’s been to from skinny puppy to the cure. there was the this other guy next to me that i had friendly banter with about the mic problems of the night. so yea the crowd was pretty awesome and friendly and everyone still clapped and cheered despite mic troubles.

I got merch before the show started which was great because the line was long at the end of the night. I was also in the pit which I really didn’t mind despite me being short I was still able to make the most of it. the opening act which was a cloud of ravens was amazing and better than sisters imo. Anyway I had a great time and i’m happy I went just to be able to say i saw the sisters live. My advice for anyone who’s nervous about going to a show is just don’t be an asshole and you should be fine 🙂

90s Goth

Here’s me in promo shots of my first band FKA Black Mirror (I know I know) we were named for the high gloss requirements on our Army Footgear. Eventually renamed Burnt Republic from our experiences in Desert Storm. Stationed in Bavaria Germany. Myself on lead vocals, synthesizer and programming James Ozone on rhythm guitar and vocals Epstein on Bass and had a Roland R-70 on drums aptly named Megabite for he only had 1.27 mb of memory. I remastered a few of our songs here’s one.

Hangouts in Denver, CO?

Hey y’all! I’ll be visiting my partner in Denver between Sept.-October, and I wanna mingle with the local scene. I’d love recommendations for places that are 18+ rather than 21+ (I’m 19, he’s 20). Everything Google pulls up is either 21+ or not goth (seriously, I got pop show recommendations). So I came here for help. Would love any advice or recommendations from Denver peeps!

Thanks in advance 🦇

??? Goth is not a music genre?

Genuinely asking. I follow this page on instagram and I really like them because they share lots of new goth/post punk etc bands but this reply took me out. Last time I checked goth is considered as genre in it’s own.

Non-derivative Death Rock

(r/deathrock won't let me post there because I'm not "active enough" on that sub)

Is there any "newer" deathrock bands that aren't just copying Bauhaus, Christian Death, or 45 Grave? Anyone with a unique sound that fits in this genre? Or even just more "rock" based goth music that is bass/guitar driven with more grit.Modern goth music thats unique and new has seemed to take a very electronic approach but I'm not seeing any Death Rock that's doing somthing new.

I feel im just finding bands that are super derivative. Is that just because the genre itself it too gatekeepy? Or is it just not popular enough? Maybe I'm just missing the really awesome bands? Maybe I'm just too head-up ass about what's "good"? Idk! You tell me.
