I get to work before the sun comes up, so I’m always driving in the dark. I know it’s weird, but I’m making a specific playlist for this 😂

So, what are some songs that just hit different when you listen to them in the dark?

I'm looking for future (underrated) places to live/visit that have vibrant goth/nerd/gamer type communities with clubs and events.

I've lived Oly, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Palm Springs. and Santa Cruz/Monterey. And all are now too expensive to move back to.

I'm curious if there are any mid/sw US oasises?

Mine’s Simon Gallup, just because he’s one of my biggest influences when playing bass

I'm going back to the gym and need some music to keep me motivated. I mostly enjoy 80's music, but I'm open to newer things as well. The only important thing is it has a fast and/or distinct beat I can lift to.

I'm not so daft as to bother people just trying to have a good time at the local goth club.

But as a middle millenial, dating sites just seem very unreliable. A lot of what I have found has been bots and people advertising business.

And the few times I've found real people, they're hesitant to move forward because the nail polish and eyeliner is weird to them, or they'd be embarrassed to bring someone home who does that.

So, what do you guys think? I'm happy to hear any ideas, opinions, or personal experiences, good, bad or funny.

I've been lookig to expand my music taste a bit and branch into different subgenres. What bands would you recommend to a complete newcomer to goth music?

Saw an ad for vocal coaching in my feed earlier and it got me wondering what goth vocalists would be considered as having / demonstrating the most skill and / or uniqueness in their craft. I'm worse than a beginner when it comes to anything related to the technical side of music though; I have no idea what is or isn't impressive vocally, so I thought I'd ask:

Who do you think is a particularly stand-out goth vocalist? Do some artists have a more uniquely goth vocal style than others? Are some artists doing things with their voice that are particularly difficult? Or are goth vocals more on the simpler side of things? Curious to know.

I usually only listen to music through spotify, so I never see music videos. I'm sure I'm missing out on some great ones!

I saw Kælan Mikla live last night and they put on one of the best live performances I have seen from a goth band so far. Highly recommend seeing them if you get a chance.

Which bands have the best stage presence in your opinion? I want to get more shows in and I’d love recommendations to look out for.
