Clan of Xymox just posted this comic, done by a real artist, shortly after being called out for using an AI generated one. Really glad they reacted to the criticism

The Official Seething Sunday where I was called a poseur by the man behind Nightbreed Records

True story and we have video to prove it. Happened today (last night for Blue_Bi0hazard).

Well played u/Blue_Bi0hazard!

I have had tech issues most of the week. PC monitor died, bought a replacement only to find I didn't have the correct cable, bought the correct cable. Took 3 days to sort out. Also my phone charger died and got replaced. I broke a nice coffee cup too.

So… how are you doing?

How to react when called whitewashed for liking goth music?

I have been called that multiple times both by white people and poc and each time I get speechless and can't say anything.

Really cool lowkey artist I found called Tsaffire! Not sure if all their stuff is in this YouTube playlist but regardless it will give you an idea. I think I just found a hidden gem.

Why is this subculture called goth

So basically I am a history buff and also a goth and I was wondering why is this subculture and genre of music called "goth". Cause historically it referred to an actual race of people instead of a music-based subculture. I looked arpund the sub reddit and didn't really find a straight answer. So my question basically is why are the genre and subculture called "goth" and what are its origins Edit: I know this is a dumb question but it has been bugging me for a while

Does anyone still get criticized and get called a “poser” even though you’re goth like doing everything that’s apart of the subculture etc?

I go through this sometimes. I listen to the music, participate in everything that’s with the subculture/community, etc. I usually get called a poser at school because I listen to J-goth and other random reasons. but I listen to all the goth classics. Sometimes I think these things happen more often ever since the term “tik tok goth police” became a thing. Just a random thought. What are your thoughts and comments about this? (Hopefully this entire thing I type doesn’t confuse anyone I barely post on here)

What are these kinds of boots called and where can I get them?

It was so hard to get this screenshot. I keep looking and Google keeps recommending dolls kill, so I had to type "no dollskill"

I hate being called “goth bitch”

I get so uncomfortable when people men call me “goth bitch.” I don’t like being called “bitch” by men anyways and the fact that so many people just automatically refer to me as a goth bitch pisses me off. They automatically assume that I’m “freaky” like stop boiling me down to a gothic fuck toy. I’m not even interested in sex and it just makes me feel so icky. Anyone else feel like this?

My mom just called me a poser lol

So for context, my mom said that I am not goth. I know the history, listen to the music, dress up sometimes, know about gothic movements, some religious aspects, and everything. How am I not goth? Also, my mom is not goth herself.
