Why Do Goths and Punks have a love for retro things?
What I mean by this question is. I noticed a lot of Goths and Punks I have known for a while have a love for things like Jazz and Blues music from let's say for example 20s-60s. Posters of Jazz Singers. Black and White Movies. Just retro and oldies stuff in general. I mean I like older things as well (Mainly from the 80s-2000s) But what do you all think? Why is this such a thing within these communities?

Whats everyone favorite song?
I listen to not much of a lot of music as I have a bad time with words and spelling, but I'd like to know what everyone likes 🙂

how do you talk about goth music with non-goths?
title. i was thinking about how i talk to people about my taste in music, and how it differs between normies and other goth/alternative people. personally, when someone not alternative asks me about music, i always just say something along the lines of ‘dark 80’s music.’ i try to dance around the ‘goth’ word just because i don’t want the immediate knee-jerk reaction of people who don’t really know what it is making incorrect assumptions. how about you all, though?
