Teen Gothic

i few days ago i decided to finally dress up "gothic" and even put a bit of makeup on (which i pretty much never do) but i ended up getting laughed at by multiple people, harassed from a car twice and overall made fun of by strangers. i live in a city where so to say "gothic" people are pretty hard to find overall, so people here are obviously not used to that type of subculture.

i was just wondering how do you guys deal with this type of situations?

I’m visiting Dallas this weekend and always like to find alt things to do when on a trip.

Does anyone have any recommendations other than clubs? I don’t drink and like to go to sleep early.

I want to get many people involved such as bands, artists, small businesses, babybats, elder goths, just anyone with an appreciation for goth involved. Things such as interviews, fashion discussion, monthly releases and music reviews, concert photography and art, and general discussion about the subculture throughout the years will be present. I am only 18 and from California so I would need assistance from fellow goths of all ages, locations, and identities in order to represent the goth community as completely as I can. Much help is appreciated !

I'm talking about something similiar to the sound of e.g. "Sea, Swallow Me" – Cocteau Twins "For you (Lois)" – Bootblacks "Lost" – Autumn's Grey Solace etc…

I'm currently making a playlist and would appreciate some suggestions that resemble this kind of vibe 🙂

Recently found a band called Egrets on Ergot(post punk/kind of experimental) , not really for everyone but absolutely love their song Occult matters. For those into Spanish goth there’s a Mexican goth band called Acid bats(death rock ) honestly all their songs are soo soo good. In terms of Spanish too hear Decencantos by Vacios Cuerpos(post punk/dark wave), pretty chill and I like his voice.<3
