Stuff with an oppressive atmosphere

Big admirer of goth music and subculture, though I can’t seem to get myself into the sound, and I think it’s because a lot of it sounds too “cheery” compared to my usual music taste (if that’s even physically possible lmao). Anything out there that has a truly deep and crushing atmosphere? Thanks

Propaganda Magazine

I would buy these and put the photos in my catholic high school locker and get in trouble. I actually went to school with the guitarist from My Chemical Romance Frank, he was a great guy. I only bought them when Suede was on the cover because I actually love Brit Pop. The Cure too And Peter Murphy not too much goth
