Echo and the Bunnymen Rialto tix

I’ve got two GA tickets to the Echo and the Bunnymen show at the Rialto next Tuesday the 11th, but can’t go because of work. Free to any fans who will use them, hmu.

Vision Video Questions

Please delete if not allowed. Long time stalker, new poster and I need some help. I’m currently working on a zine about the band Vision Video (Goth Dad’s Band!) and I have a couple questions to help guide my research. Firstly, is the permanent band Dusty and Emily, and if not who are the other members? That sounds fake fan-ish, but I’ve had such a hard time finding that information. Lastly, do you have any recommendations for interviews with them, particularly interviews with Emily or about Emily? Again, there’s not a lot I’ve been able to find.

Have some art I made a long while ago during my nightmare finals as a thank you in advance!

Goths and the stereotype about them being “crazy”

I was watching Urban Legend and the goth character is portrayed as someone who is manic depressive and promiscuous. After watching this movie, I started thinking about other goth characters in movies and tv shows and how they are viewed and seen as “crazy” or “mentally unstable”. You see Nancy Downes in The Craft literally go insane with power and ends up in a mental institution by the end of the movie, you have various movies and tv shows with goth or alternative characters where they are seen on social rejects who are prone to insanity. The only accurate portrayals of goths I have seen in media is South Park’s Goth Kids, and Abbey from NCIS. It’s just a thought I had while watching these types of movies where people assume that a goth or alternative person is “crazy” whenever it comes to media. What do you guys think about this?

Goth: A History

Just finished reading 'Goth: A History' by Lol Tolhurst. Has anyone read this one recently? Admittedly I read it as much for his thoughts on the subculture as a whole as the musical history of The Cure and the mood in England that gave rise to it. Not a long read, would definitely recommend.
