Teen Gothic

It's that time of the week again everyone. Time to expel those demons and force them onto all the readers right here. Will there be rage? Probably. Will there be sympathy? Possibly. Will you feel a little better after getting your ails out? Sure, why not.

THE SCREAM OF THE GOTH WILL RISE LIKE A MOTH! OH YEAH!

Hiiii, im looking for new goth music and i will be very grateful if i can get recommendations based on bands i already like. Here they are

Velvet eden, Auto-mod, GPKism, Parálisis permanente, Bauhaus, Gothika, Blamhoney

I enjoy vampire themed songs! Also if any of these bands isnt goth please tell me!!

Thanks!!!! 😀

I’ve recently started getting into goth music, and I really like the band Earth Calling Angela. I’m not too familiar with subgenres of goth music, but their album “Hope Springs Eternal” is really good, and I would like to find more similar sounding artists. If you have any recommendations, please share them. Thank you!

Like for actual babies. I have self appointed myself as my niece’s fairy gothmother. I have shared some of my more age appropriate favorites with her but wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations.

i just like female vocalists and i dont know a lot of bands with them..

i’ve just recently listened to Pink Turns Blue for the first time and really enjoyed their song The First. what are some of y’all’s favorites by them?

Apparently he's in the ICU currently. He had been sick before tour and decided to tough it out and play the gigs. What he actually had was extreme myocarditis and needs open heart surgery and a new valve. This is the second person I know who has come down with this over the last few years and just might be a long term effect of Covid. So my guess is that during the tour the band thought he had relapsed because he was feverish, sweating and out of it. That part is speculation but it scans to me. There's a gofundme and even Andrew C posted about it. So who really knows now.

A previous post before me said something similar. People don't know that goth is a music genre.

All goth seems to be online now is "who looks the most goth" "who has the most goth stuff" "who dresses the most goth" "whos social media feed looks the most goth" and "who shops at the most goth stores"

Its all performative. More than half of all new goths are not true to the subculture. With the rise of aesthetics and how you are being perceived online, the goth message has been pushed out of the way for things like consumerism and capitalism off this popular "look".

And I use the phrase "goth movement/ message" lightly because it is apparently a polarizing topic, even though goth is a political subculture. Similar things have happened to the punk, grunge, and even scene/ emo subcultures who are based on antifascism or even positive mental health messages. Its been reduced down to a label with no one having any regard for the history of

Ever since goth became fetishized and a popular tag on OF, PH, etc. the message of the Goth Movement has completely been washed out, which is sad because goth's have never really been well known for anything other than their looks and "odd/ weird" personalities.

Please discuss any points I made in the comments and discuss with each other. I would love to know what other goths think of this!
