Looking for a specific “wet” flanger guitar sound
Hey. I'm looking for albums or tracks with specific guitar sound. My absolute benchmarks are Cocteau Twins — "Shallow Then Hallo" and The Cure — "One Hundred Years". I need the guitar to be the absolute main focus of the mix. It must play a primitive, bleak, minimalistic riff with a heavy, "rusty", "wet" flanger or chorus drowned in a massive, cavernous studio reverb. Please avoid dry, angular post-punk and any boring, uninspired goth rock. I do not want theatrical, high-pitched, or shrieky vocals that ruin the atmosphere. I just want that heavy, massive, wet guitar wall of sound in an empty room with buried, dark, or detached vocals. Can be 80s, 90s, or modern coldwave/darkwave/shoegaze. Any hidden gems?

Are there any more goth songs that sound like Riboflavin by 45 Grave?
Asides from recommendations, what (sub?)genre of goth music would this be assigned to ? 😖

Bands that sound like the more melancholy side of Rozz-era Christian Death?
Especially The Drowning. Love the more punk side of them as well, but I've had better luck finding music in line with it. (I hope this is allowed since it's a recommendation request not a song post…)

Is there a goth sound you wish to be more common?
As the title says, are there any bands (or even songs) that you listen to and think "damn, I need more of it" but there's very little or none at all?

Songs Avatar and Mesmerism by Dead Can Dance. A majestic duo of ethereal goth and world music. I think the secret is the layered reverberated guitar sound and use of ethnic instruments and the professional mixing. It's interesting how DCD were an inspiration for lots of bands, yet no one seem to be on the same level (and style) to these songs. The closest to this I've heard is Shallow Mists by Eden. Also I've forgot to mention another song by Dead Can Dance, Ocean. Melancholic, tragic, minimalistic and touching.

Xmal Deutschland. You can immediately recognize this band by howling voice of Anja Huwe drowning within heavily reverberated guitars and tribal drums which makes you feel like you're having a concert in an abandoned cathedral haunted by banshees. The closest to this sound is the contemporary Brazilian band Rakta. Also I'd like to mention Chvenie Absolútna album by Slovakian band Ľahká Múza – it's actually ethereal wave, but has the right amount of howling and reverberation.

Hi, I’m still a babybat. So what bands sound similar to Clown by Switchblade Symphony?
I've been obsessed with it for a couple days or so now. I need more bands that are Switchblade Symphony adjacent.

Any bands that sound like Earth Calling Angela?
I’ve recently started getting into goth music, and I really like the band Earth Calling Angela. I’m not too familiar with subgenres of goth music, but their album “Hope Springs Eternal” is really good, and I would like to find more similar sounding artists. If you have any recommendations, please share them. Thank you!

Deathrock/gothrock band recommendations that sound like Virgin in Veil ?
I've been trying to find other goth bands that have similar vocals to Virgin in Veil with the same deathrock sound but I've had poor luck. Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated.
