Teen Gothic

Hi guys I've been in the scene for a long time now but just never did traditional goth makeup. I always have coloured hair so I never thought it would suit it but here it is… Let me know your feedback!

I’ve always been obsessed/intrigued/interested by goth music and fashion but never knew when I’d actually get into it. But now I am! Now that I am, I want to now what are the best brands to buy clothes from? And what are some bands to listen to? (Currently listening to inkubus sukkubus, acid bath, and Bauhaus) Im also on the east coast of the us so I’d need help finding clothes that I’d be able to wear in the cold and not freeze my ass off

So, i’ve been wanting to start a youtube channel where i talk about the basics of gothic culture, history, fashion, music, etc.

I wanted to ask around if there’s any specific topics you, the community, would like to hear about from someone else’s perspective.

hi so as the title says, i’m new to the goth subculture (i’ve only started my research in the last few weeks.)

i was wondering if anyone has band or artist recommendations that are goth but also lean towards rock? i prefer heavier music, and i find a lot of goth artists seem to have a lighter vibe yk?

Hi! I've just joined the alt-goth community and trying to learn more about it each day, I know there are terms that use to call each other. I heard that 'baby bat' is used for newcomers to the community. I don't know if that just for teens early 20s. I'm 28 so it matter on age to use that term or is there another one.

I’m brand new to the subculture and loving it here so far but I’m not really comfortable describing myself as a baby bat. definitely get the appeal of the term, I think it’s just personal preference; wondering if there are alternatives. If there aren’t I’m content to just call myself “new” lol but I was just curious

Me and my bff (who's no longer goth) were reminiscing about our time as baby goths in the mid 00's as a teen. Boy did our experiences SUCKED. You got ridiculed in the streets, you got ridiculed by other goths (granted, starting with evanescence wasn't cool, but unfortunately it was the starting point in that era). If you were a girl, you became a lethal man repeller.

How was your experience?

I've been goth for about a year and a half now, is there like a certain point in time when you stop being one, or a certain age? I've just been wondering because I'm kinda new to the goth community, and I only have like two other goth friends, and they don't know either 😭

edit- I should add, I'm not well aware of what exactly a "baby bat" is so… 💀

I’ve been really into cocteau twins, the cure (specifically disintegration), and labonen hanover the past month. I like the way Etherealwave sounds, but I want to discover more bands outside of that!! It would be nice if someone could link me up with a playlist. Also, where do you guys purchase your jewelry and clothes from? I can’t seem to find a place with affordable necklaces and decor 🙁 I’ve tried thrifting many times but haven’t found lots of goods, and I’m not good at DIY. I don’t even know how to sew or anything like that! I would like to dress up more, but it’s hard with said circumstances 😢 Thank you!

Also, I'm not exactly the most goth fashioned person so any shops (England) would you recommend? I want to slowly integrate more goth fashion into my life.
