moonvampire is banned on Bandcamp
Hi all. There was some discussion if this band was AI earlier here: https://old.reddit.com/r/goth/comments/1m4p3jf/lebanon_hanover_knocked_off_1_selling_dark_wave/
I can officially say per Bandcamp correspondence that they have been banned after I inquired if this was AI generated music.
ME Jan 13, 2026, 11:57 AM PST As per this announcement: https://old.reddit.com/r/BandCamp/comments/1qbw8ba/ai_generated_music_on_bandcamp/ Which, BTW, is not reflected in your Terms of Use. Can you provide the official link on bandcamps website for this? That said, I beleive the artist "MoonVampire" may be using AI generation and assets. They have published a lot of music on bandcamp in a very short period of time, and their online presence is almost non-existent. There are a few reddit threads of how everyone suspects they are. So, at this point, can you please inquire with them? Thanks!
Alfie (Bandcamp Support) Jan 20, 2026, 12:08 PM PST Hi there, You recently submitted a Terms of Use report for content on Bandcamp. We are writing to let you know that the content has been reviewed, found in violation of our Terms, and has been removed from the site. Thank you for letting us know, Bandcamp == Bandcamp.com ======================================== bluesky.app/bandcamp | Instagram.com/bandcamp | Tiktok.com/bandcamp
So… there you go I guess.
I found the couple tracks I purchased did remain in my catalog, YMMV however.

Bandcamp bans AI
See the last blog post. Bandcamp is calling on people to report AI "acts" so that they can then be removed from the platform.

AI generated album covers and incorrect music tagging on bandcamp are making looking for goth music next to impossible.
Everywhere I go on there you're either wading through AI generated album covers that instantly makes me not want to ever listen to your music, or it's tagged so poorly that I often find rap or just pop music being labeled as 'goth'. Bandcamp was and continues to be the easiest way to find goth music for me and have found some great bands on there that are still some of my favorites, but in recent months it's become a minefield to peruse anything there and a stroke of luck to find anything that hits.
The AI generated images just feel like a betrayal of the DIY ethos that should be integral to goth and deathrock and no goth musician should ever succumb to the diminishing and quick returns you get from them.
Just needed to vent. This shit is demoralizing.

Bandcamp Dumpster Diving
This is a personal gripe I have that probably won't do anything to change anything. I use the "goth rock" tag in Bandcamp frequently and have found some really awesome bands like Cataphiles and Swan Wash. However, this tag is really saturated in projects that use the tag but turns out they are metal, industrial, pop punk, or just some other kind of alt rock. I also use the "deathrock" tag and it's not as bad but it's not always the sound I'm looking for. Using "post-punk" gives a lot more vague results too.
What tags do y'all use for Bandcamp to search for goth rock? What are some treasures you have found on there?

Fans of ACTORS, Ploho, Ötzi and Kaelan Mikla- free downloads today on bandcamp
Artoffact Records is having a free download event for some albums released before 2024- these events are rare so thought I’d post it here.

Goth band patches? This is my goth vest (front and back) and I’ve been searching everywhere for more black and white goth patches, including Bandcamp, websites, Etsy, eBay etc. Does anyone know of any bands that are currently selling patches that would go nicely on my vest? I’m trying to fill it up.

It’s Bandcamp Friday!
It's the first Friday of the month, so Bandcamp is waiving fees for all purchases. That means that anything you pay goes directly to the artists who you love!
This month, Black Angel is having a $ 10 vinyl sale today. I'm also looking at picking up Summore on vinyl and VAZUM's new album.
What do you plan on picking up this month? There's lots of great new music that's already come out this year!
