What’s up with ‘under every goth show, there is a pair of cute socks’?

I'm new to the gothic subculture and have been seeing several things similar to the title like goths wanting to go watch the Barbie movie, so I wanted ask what does that mean? Is it like some way for goths to express that they have a soft side without showing it?

Hello! It’s my second post here to show my second pair of newrocks! They just came today fresh from Spain, they are 5pounds of thick leather and steel with a 2 and a half Inch platform and are very nice! What ya’ll think?
