Question?

What if someone likes new age goth music, but only a few songs here and there from older goth bands? Would they still be considered goth?

Question about synths

So I'm interested in making a darkwave solo project, and I would like to incorporate a lot of synth into it since that's such a big aspect of the genre, however I don't know very much about synths so I was wondering if anyone had some basic recommendations/guidelines as for what type of synth works best for this genre, be that software recs or suggestions for a specific model of analog or whatever.

Also if this isn't the right space to ask about this and anyone has a different sub they'd like to direct me towards feel free.

question about Los Angeles goth clubs.

I've been to bar sinister a couple of times and didn't like it too much. I have heard of das bunker but can't tell if it's even open anymore. anyone have any recommendations? I'll be there for a full week so hoping at least one day will be a decent goth night.

I am going to share this because it has been a question recently on being how to respond when someone calls you out for being goth

This person was insulting people and calling them Trolls. I replied to their comment which had nothing to do with anything goth.

.

They decided to try and insult me for being goth 😑 It was such a ridiculous comment. I Didn't even know how I should reply. I replied anyway.

Honestly their tolling was so stupid it made me laugh, bit if I were a younger goth I might have been actually offended. I shared this with a friend because recently talking about situations like this, but I figured I would share it on here because it seemed relevant to recent posts.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything but I don't even state I am goth on my personal Instagram, I also don't state my age. The only thing on it was 1 picture where a friend and I found a sticker outside a gay bar that said Texas Goth and we had to take a picture by it.

Dumb question but how do you handle negative perceptions?

From an outsider perspective it can become quite difficult for me to explain myself.

While it’s not my responsibility explaining myself like a broken record playing the same songs on loop, it’s genuinely exhausting dealing with various misunderstandings.

I’m a quiet person for a reason I won’t go into. Unwanted eyes and unwanted thoughts from unwanted people disgust me when I’m trying to express myself in my most comforting way possible.

I’m not a fetish (as gorgeous as I look), I’m not a demon (as cool as horns look on me) nor am I a lunatic (just weird), I merely love expressing myself given I never had that opportunity to previously due to private stuff.

Given the double edged sword of expression, it can easily be lost in translation.

TLDR: How do you humans and more handle being misinterpreted?
