Teen Gothic

went to a fairly new local goth night tn and no one was dancing. it was my first time at that venue so i didnt know anyone & tried making conversation w this sound bloke who was sat alone at the bar, after about an hour of chatting i asked him if he wanted to go downstairs (to the dance floor) as the bar was getting round capacity & he said he didnt like how loud it was so i said alright, ill prolly see you later then. went downstairs and nobody was dancing. just people talking to their mates and some proper sat down not even trying to sway w the music. i tried dancing but i felt dodgy n out of place which is a feat for a goth night. was so surreal i just up and left an hour earlier than planned. sat waiting for my taxi rn – everyone there seemed lovely n im glad i made the effort to go but i really struggled w how closed off the whole place felt, mind u the tickets cost about seven quid

Can anyone recommend anything? I love the bass vi and I love how it’s energetic but calm and washed out at the same time and really want more goth music like that to listen to

I'm actually a raw black metal fan but I've listened to all of their songs and they're all perfect and I think they're goth. So, can you recommend me some more bands like them?

Honestly I find that the Original album version is a much more fun listen, and I wish they adapted that version into a music video instead of the remaster, It's also a shame there's way less talk of the original album version of the song, which is crazy because honestly it's the climax of its album in my opinion, and while Spirit Remastered is cute there's less to write home about than its predecessor but that's my honest opinion

They're two of my favorite bands in the scene, and I wanted to know if anyone else here also likes them. I also just wanted to give them a mention because they were among the first bands I took a liking to as I was getting into goth music. My favorite song by Ghost Dance is A Deeper Blue and my fav by And Also the Trees is Slow Pulse Boy.

Just want to listen stuff like that. Those bands have in common a thematics like occultism, esotericism, myticism, spiritualism. Not only lyrics also on aesthetics Anything similar is welcome

Some other subgenres like Darwave and Neofolk are also welcome

I just recently saw SOM on tour with Blaqk Audio (specifically the show in Charlotte) and man.. have they always been like this? The show was really boring and tame compared to Blaqk Audio which kinda shocked me. Were my expectations too high? Did Blaqk Audio spoil me? SOM hardly acknowledged the crowd, I figured at least a few songs in they'd stop and be like "Thanks for coming out Charlotte! What did you guys think of Blaqk Audio??" or anything along those lines. Has Andrew Eldritch just gotten too old for this? Was this just an off day for the band? I left before the encore so maybe something more happened then, but regardless I left feeling a little dissapointed.

I will say I'm a little new to the goth scene, so maybe all shows are just like this and I'm used to seeing metallica tribute bands and the energy there lmao.

Additionally, is their mixing always that bad too? I could hardly hear him singing which sucked. Did anybody else feel this way?

To be fair these are the only goth bands that I’ve listened to extensively, I’m sure if I knew of all that was out there my list would likely look very different.
