Teen Gothic

Anyone else had great success with inviting people who aren’t familiar with our music and scene? I’ve been able to successfully bring out 9 of my workmates, a lot of my friends and my entire family to these quite frequently. My favorite parts are breaking down all the misconceptions they’ve had on what Goth is and seeing them embrace it as a music based experience not some fashion show with freaks and darklings. They always leave happy to experience something new, falling in love with how lovely and welcoming the people can be and letting themselves enjoy the music and atmosphere. I say this as I’m bringing a few new blood from work to a batcave tonight and they seem excited about it based on what my other work mates have said. Anyone else have luck bringing in fresh souls into your caves?

I will be visiting Riga, Berlin, Munich and Vienna starting next week and through Sept 4th. I'd love to know if anyone has recommendations on how to keep my lil back heart away from the "normal clubs" partying and go to goth nights, or shows. I've done some looking into Riga (nothing there really) and Berlin (not certain they're current). Festival wizard site doesn't show anything matching dates. I'd also like to do some non-tourist things that fit our lifestyle outside of visiting churches, in which I may burst into flames. Appreciate the help!

I know similar questions to this have been asked in the past but I read the replies and didn't really find what I was looking for. Whenever I (22) go to goth nights at the local club I always just dance with my friends and don’t really talk to anyone besides them. I want to meet more people though. I always heard people don’t like being talked to when dancing but I don’t know if that’s actually true or how else I’d really meet people at the club (besides maybe chat at the bar or something). If people don't mind being talked to on the dance floor, I don’t even know how I’d do it though without being awkward/intrusive. What do you all with more experience at clubs think?

I’m considering going to the one this weekend but have no one to go with and I’m wondering if it would be any fun? I’d love to hear how others like it and if it’s fairly easy to socialize alone.

I’m annoyed at death guild in San Francisco!

Death Guild is apparently the longest running goth/industrial night in the country, however they didn’t play a single goth or industrial song last night aside from fascination street and some club remix of a Siouxsie song.

Otherwise they were just playing what sounded like rave or even dubstep music.

I will say I’m not too well versed in EBM or its many subgenres but it really didn’t sound like the EBM i know of.

Is this a common occurrence? Going to an advertised goth night just to end up not hearing many goth songs at all?

Anything awesome in long Island or the village area on Sat? I used to go to the Batcave & Pyramid but they're both gone and I missed Detour last event. What's a good fun spot to dance on sats?
