And also the trees

Is anyone else consistently shocked this band doesn't get more credit or mentions? Unrivaled old-school original Goth. Absolutely in a league of their own.

Goth songs that non goths also like?

My boyfriend is gonna propose to me soon (relevant I promise) we've even picked out a ring together and we already know it will be a pretty small wedding, we don't have a lot of friends or even extended family who would really want to be there, so we have decided against a DJ, but I'll be honest it's also partly because I'd like to have a little more control over the music given that my tastes are what they are. So basically here it is, most if not all of the friends I'm inviting are also really into goth music, and it's also something I would want to include in the reception while everyone is dancing and having fun. Because when I personally think of dancing and letting loose, I think of goth.

But here's the thing, there will still be family members at the wedding, so essentially I'm looking for examples of goth music that won't seem partivularly abrasive or offensive to non goth adults in theyr 50s/60s. I'll be mixing them in with other music targeted more at some of our other guests so everyone will find something they'll like. I'll also take suggestions for "goth friendly but not necessarily goth" songs/ bands that some of my friends who'vebeen into goth a bit longer than I have would still likely enjoy, just to beef up the playlist a bit and have more options. It doesn't need to necessarily be anything a mainstream crowd of that age would LOVE, just something they wouldn't be too shocked to hear and wouldn't cause too much of a stir, thanks so much for the help. Bonus points for themes involving love/ romance.

I’m starting to get into fields of the nephilim and the songs celebrate, for her light, and there will your heart be also are such good songs

I especially love and your heart will be also, it’s like if Pink Floyd had a goth phase and it’s so good

Can you be goth without listening to the music but also not dressing goth?

i recently brought my partner to a underground goth club event and while there asked if he was comfortable because it wasn't his scene, his reply was that he is goth and that it is his scene. He listens to no goth music, does not dress goth, as well as knows no goth bands. he mostly exclusively listens to vaporwave and EDM/raver music, and he keeps saying that he is goth just for wearing black all the time. i tried to ask him if he knew any bands at all and he said that it didnt matter because being goth has nothing to do with fashion and music which i know that goth has a very big connection to music and fashion. i am a baby goth at the moment and was always told that you cant be goth without listening to the music/dressing the part has it changed now that you can be goth without dressing the part or listening to the music?

The title is a little clickbaity, but I think this further proves that goths can by any religion. Goth itself is not a religion. Also, Nick Cave has been through a LOT that I didn’t know about. Interesting read!
