By a twist of fate, I've ended up the sole mod of r/indiangoth. I have limited mod permissions and the subs creator's accounts have been disabled so I'm gonna have to appeal to reddit for full control of the sub. While I wait, i figured I'd ask around for advice, so I would really appreciate any help/advice with the following:

1) How can I (and future mods) ensure the space is a safe, inclusive, and fun place for goth people in India?

2) How can subreddits be used to foster the goth sub culture and music?

3) When people post their outfits, a lot are just all-black fast fashion stuff and not connected to anything goth – but there are also people who have very limited resources and "beginners" who are exploring themselves. How should I differentiate between them and what should be done about the former?

4) what in god's name should I do about the constant barrage of goth girl sexualization that the sub has become a lightning rod for?

One of my more local venues is having a friday the 13th event and Im itching to go!!! I would be going alone and want to start going to make friends! I don't really have any right now so feeling very lonely at the moment lol. My main issue is that I've never been to any sort of club before and don't drink! Any advice or tips, Im very shy! 23f if that helps?

I want to introduce myself into this subculture but I would like to know what is more important, like what you think, what you look, what you read, things that I can know so I can be part of it. If you have any advice of how you started to be goth it would be amazing

I'm a 25-year-old black woman who recently gave up all her social media. ( ive been fully presenting as goth for about 5 years now in my attire and the fashion has really helped me gain some confidence. I used to just listen to the mucis but had no taste for fashion, now ive gotten a bit better at looking the way I want. )

I'm attending a goth dance event for the first time on Friday by myself and I suffer from being a bit awkward and super shy. Are there tips on how I can navigate the bar/dance scene and make friends?

I really want to put myself out there and gain a bit more confidence. Is there advice for anyone who has gone to events alone?

Hi, my brother passed away today after a short battle with cancer. When he was younger, he was a goth and did all things as part of that culture. He wore the black clothes, the makeup, etc.

I’m helping my sister-in-law plan his funeral and I would love some advice on what kind of music he might have been into back then; this would have been in UK, circa late 80’s, early 90’s. I can’t remember any bands he listened to and I wish I’d had the chance to ask him before it was too late.

i’ve been getting into the goth culture and i know that it’s all about listening to the music, i’ve listed to The cure, alien sex feind, and scary bitches (which i’ve been told are goth so i hope they are) and i’m hoping i can get some more recommendations of some well known songs!

also, i’d love to dress more trad goth or romantic goth but i know my parents are too strict so i mostly try and up-cycle clothes i’ve already got to make them look more goth (it helps my mum used to work in the funeral business so i get all her old clothes) if anyone had any tips on up-cycling it would really help

I don’t know much about singing but I think I’m like a baritone or something but I can’t really get my voice that low or that high.

I learned to DJ last year & have had a couple of gigs here & there. I’m interested in doing a club night anywhere in Cali. & would like some advice & suggestions. I grew up listening to bands like Big Electric Cat, The Veil, Witching Hour, and Rosetta Stone to name a few and would love to spin the music I grew up listening to. I’m open to advice from DJs, promoters and club attendees 🖤 My biggest concern is partnering up with the wrong ppl that are hyperfocused in lots of drama :/
